•FlameFur's POV•

I glared at the fallen oak tree and hurtled past it, hooking my tail on a bent branch. I paused, my paws clicking down on hard stone and I bumped my chin. I straightened myself and dusted my fur, then pulled my tangled fur off of the trunk.

Nightshade sighed. A light in her eyes shone brightly. "I'm just glad you're here with me. As is Graystripe. And Brute and Rustblood. I'm so glad I have loyal warriors."

My eyes widened at the paise, and for a second I couldn't think of anything to say. "T-thank you, Nightshade. It's really an honor to accompany you on this journey," I stammered. I awkwardly dipped my head and waited for the group to pass, taking the rear.

Only haunches swaying and ears swiveling were visible. And then two things at once happened.

Nightshade stopped to stare at a black wolf that'd oh-so-calmly stepped in front of her.

And a blue wolf appeared from rustling leaves behind me.

"Only those who are aware are unaware."
