the one with the shady chemistry experiment
[ S2 0.4 ]"ALL I heard was her name and something about chemistry."
Scott, Eleanor, Jaden and Stiles exchanged worried glances. The Kanima couldn't be Lydia, it wasn't and it couldn't.
And just when things couldn't get anymore strange and unexpected, Lydia was stood at the chalk board, tears rolling down her face as she wrote something that nobody but the group could understand. 'someone help me' written backwards. What was happening to her?
This made the four best friends even more aware of what would be happening when they sat down for their Chemistry class. Allison made sure that she was sat next to Lydia, her usual partner, while Scott and Jaden were paired together along with Stiles and Eleanor.
That was until Mr Harris explained their experiment. And then Scott was moved next to Erica, the girl who had turned from sweet to psycho. Lydia was sat with Jaden, Stiles was sat with Allison and Isaac was sat with Eleanor. Oh, the joy.
Eleanor used to be good friends with Isaac, and then when her older brother decided to make her life a living hell by turning three teenagers into werewolves, they weren't exactly civil.
With Stiles in the picture, it would be easy to torment Eleanor, and Isaac smirked as he sat down with his new lab partner. Eleanor tried avoiding eye contact.
"Avoiding me isn't going to do you any good, sweetheart." Isaac stated patronisingly, leaning back in his chair as everyone around them began starting their experiment.
Eleanor smiled bitterly. "I'd rather be avoiding you than talking to you, sweetheart."
She began the experiment by herself, knowing that Isaac wouldn't even bother to help, and tried to focus on the task at hand, rather than the ignorant boy sat beside her.
"Oh, c'mon Elle. What happened? We used to be such good friends."
She scoffed, not looking away from the glass tube in her hands. "What happened is my brother turned you into a crude asshole that takes pleasure in other peoples pain."
Isaac seemed hurt by the statement, but of course, he wasn't and Eleanor could tell that he was putting on a facade to try and pry into the Hale's mind. It wouldn't work, and Eleanor was getting bored of his plan already.
"I don't like seeing people in pain, Elle, you know that. Derek's my Alpha, and I'll do anything for him. He saved my life."
Eleanor shook her head, becoming more irritable with the boy within seconds. "Derek did not save your life. In fact, he probably destroyed it. Your dad was abusive, but you had so much going for you; I was there for you and I helped you through everything-"
"You were too busy with Stiles most of the time." Isaac reprimanded bitterly.
All of a sudden, neither of them were sure if they were faking with one another anymore. What came from their mouths felt real.
"Yeah, because Stiles is my best friend, I'm always with him. But he's not involved in everything and if you needed me, I would've been there, like the thousands of times I have been before."
Isaac narrowed his eyes at Eleanor. "You seem awfully close, you probably told him everything I ever told you."
"Of course we're close," Eleanor confirmed incredulously. "But those were your secrets to tell, not mine. I never said a word."
The curly haired boy seemed to ignore the last comments and focused on Stiles. He didn't need to be having this conversation and acting like the sad case that he used to be. He needed to get into Eleanor's head, and as he glanced around the classroom, he knew exactly how.
"You two seem closer nowadays, what's the deal with that?"
Eleanor furrowed her eyebrows, confused in the slight change in subject. "Nothing."
"Nothing?" Isaac questioned, smirking. "I thought you had something going on?"
"Uh," Eleanor stammered. "Not really."
"Oh good."
She creased her forehead in confusion and raised her eyebrows, studying Isaac's facial expression. He was grinning, as if he had achieved something.
"What do you mean, 'good'?"
"I'm just glad that you're not together, especially seeing those two all over each other."
His bony finger pointed across the room and to the lab table in front of Stiles and Erica, whom were sat unusually close together with her hand noticeably resting on his thigh. The sight made Eleanor feel nauseous.
Trying to persuade her mind to not work into overdrive, she willed herself to look away and pretend not to care. She knew she was overreacting, as they weren't even official, and turned to look back at Isaac whom smirked knowingly.
Mr Harris rung his bell and signalled for the partners to rotate. Eleanor stood up and scowled at her old friend, "You lay one finger on Lydia and I'll turn your hair into one of those stupid scarfs you love to wear."
