Right from the genesis I knew I shouldn't have;
Shouldn't have followed him into night when he beckoned me to;
Shouldn't have listened to him when reassured me;
Shouldn't have trusted him when he offered my heart a place of solace.
Yet I did.
I knew of the trap that he set, I knew what I was descending into,
yet I could not resist.
In the end,
even my body, heart, and soul,
I know that it's all his.
I know that I may never escape his lacework,
but I don't regret.
