Star was happy things were okay between her and Marco again. She really hated the tension and awkwardness between them. (not to mention she still loved Marco) Marco stopped avoiding Star and they do things together again. Star was thinking about giving up on Marco while wandering round campus when she heard Jackie speaking to someone she didn't know in a very secluded area of the school. Star isn't one to eavesdrop on someone on a normal basis, but Star sensed that something was off. she crawled into a nearby bush and listened to the conversation.
"It's totally working, I'm like, the most popular girl in school now"
"I still can't believe you pulled it off gurl"
"I can't either, turns out that hunk already had hots for me before he became a total chick magnet"
"So why exactly are you choosing him? He's a total dork"
"That may be true, but he has the body of a god. Every girl in school thinks of him as total eye-candy."
"True, are you going to let him know about this?"
"Of course not. Marco may be a dork, but he has standards, he won't let a girl use him for popularity like that, so I've kept it secret. If you tell, your social life is dead."
"Jeez girl, I wasn't gonna say anything. Calm down"
"Good"
Star was frozen. She knew Jackie was in a bad spot reputation-wise before she became Marco's girlfriend, but she never thought Jackie would drop this low. She knew she had to let Marco know, but what if he doesn't trust him. Every shred of trust will disappear between the two. Star was bamboozled, she didn't know what to do in the slightest. She didn't know how to present this to Marco without him being angry. She had to let it go, or collect evidence. Those were her only options, she wasn't going to risk telling Marco with no evidence to base her claim off of. So she decided to go super stealth mode. While basically stalking Jackie, she thought about what was going on, and how insane and unrealistic this situation was. Then she remembered that she is a magical princess that came to this dimension to train and fell head over heels for the boy who is giving her shelter, So she carried on. Days, weeks went by and Jackie wouldn't croak! Star was determined to accomplish this mission. She had to, for Marco.   She eventually bought a journal and started recording events in it.

Day 36: I can't believe I'm still doing this. I got THIS close to getting cold hard evidence. No dice. I'm going insane. But I have to finish this, I've come this far. I'm in no place to give up now. My camera is low on battery, I may have to call it a night.

Day 39: I'm about ready to flat out give up. I've spend so much of my time stalking a girl for evidence of an event I can hardly even remember. Marco is starting to get suspicious of my whereabouts. I think it's near time to give up, but I'll stay a couple more nights. Marco is importa- Star put her things down. Star was listening to Jackie while she was writing and could barely make out the word "Marco". This had her attention now. Her ears were wide open, and she thought her weeks of stalking might pay off. She pointed her camera at Jackie's face. Star's heart raced as she prayed this conversation would make this the final day of Star's mission.
"Does Marco still trust you?"
"Is he still oblivious to your ploy?"
There were two girls talking to her.
"Think of it like this. I'm the puppeteer, and he is the puppet. Only he doesn't know that, and we'll keep it that way."
"Deep."
"Yep"
"So how is the whole "rule the school thing going for you? It sounds like a task"
"Not really, especially when you have the school's hottest boy at your disposal"
"That makes sense"
Star was furious, but she knew she had to get home. She had what she needed. It had all payed off.

She got home and sat on the couch, it was a waiting game at this point. She waited and waited, she had watched two movies at this point, no Marco. Just as she was about to call it a night, she heard the door creek open. It was as if the stars were aligning for her. It was unreal. Marco looked at Star sitting on the couch. "What are you doing?" Marco asked. "To answer that question, dear Marco, I have something to show you." "Umm...alright, what is it?"
