the ninth month with (y/n) they say together on the rooftop, admiring the city lights and cuddling together.

her phone started ringing and she glanced at akaashi as to say, 'sorry'.

"i have to go. sugawara is asking for my help. he and kiyoko just fought, and he wants to be picked up and requested stay at mine for the night. sorry."

(y/n) looked at him with guilt.

"go ahead." akaashi smiled bittersweetly.

but before she went, he grabbed her arm.

and kissed her again,

once more.

he kissed her roughly at first, and then gently, allowing his desperation and love to seep through.

he held her, as if she was a celestial being.

he held her tightly, as if she was going to disappear any second.

and akaashi knew that she was.

because,

within a few hours, he wouldn't be able to call (l/n) (y/n) his anymore.

"goodbye." he said, gently, laced with extreme sadness.

he knew that sugawara was going to make a move tonight.

he knew that the times he had with (y/n) were over.

he knew that she would pick sugawara in the end.

that the dates,

the good mornings and good nights,

the hugs,

the kisses,

the talks,

the jokes,

the romantic walks,

the linked hands,

the calls and texts,

the laughs,

and the cuddles,

were just temporary.

a facade.

and that they meant little to nothing.

he texted sugawara.

'treat her well, please.'

and now sitting alone in the midst of the city lights,

he thought about her beautiful (e/c) eyes, how they glistened in the dark whenever they went out late at night.

he thought about her plump pink lips, how she pressed her lips on his, and how he loved that feeling.

and when those lips spread themselves into a smile, it made his heart flutter; it was an indescribable feeling.

he thought about her pretty nose, how it would scrunch up whenever she was uncomfortable.

he thought about her smooth, silly hair, how it would glisten in the sunlight.

he thought about her kindness, irreplaceable by others, and how it never failed to bring a small smile onto his face.

he loved (l/n) (y/n) so, so, so very much.

he loved her with all the possible love and affection that he could muster, and she tried to love him back.

he gave her all his love, but she couldn't learn to love him back.

and it ended just like that,

beginning in the city lights.

and,

ending in the city lights.
