*have I ever told you guys I love sickfics and whump and stuff like that?? The only thing I'm very good at writing is death (honestly that's why I only ever write lance DYING) but like I should write more whump/sickfics.*

One thing Lance absolutely hated was not knowing where he was at all times. One time he fell off the monkey bars at school and got a concussion, and he blacked out for a bit. His mother told him that when he was in the hospital he almost had a panic attack because he didn't know he was in the hospital. He was only seven, but it's been like that ever since.
So when Lance was met with blinding pain in his eyes and unfamiliar sounds around him, he could hear his breath start to become heavier.
I need to calm down, He thought. He sucked his a large breath and tried to remember where he was. After he let out a long breath he remembered.
He was on the ground after getting blasted by Haggar.
Great.
After a moment the pain in his eyes went away, but he still couldn't really see. He made out other figures, his team, fighting around him, and another figure running towards him.
"Hey buddy, you good?" It was Hunk. It took him a moment to register what exactly Hunk had said. When his head finally stopped spinning, so did his version. He sat up slowly before grabbing Hunk's arm to stand up. "The witch got you pretty good. Hit your face." Hunk supported Lance by putting his arm under him. As he stood up, the pain flooded back into him.
"She tried n'ruin this pretty face?" Lance tried to joke, but he sounded strain. Hunk offered a weak scoff and a small smile.
"C'mon, we got the prisoners out, we're retreating." Hunk's voice was a still a bit faded, but not as bad as before. Lance nodded weakly. Eventually he was fine to walk on his own, so he slugged over to the Blue Lion. As he sat in the chair, he felt a warm rush of worry blow into him.
My paladin, your mind is severely injured.
The lion sounded almost shocked. Lance knew he should listen to the lion's words, but he'd hate to think he'd have to be in those damn pods again. He didn't want to slow the team down if they were in the middle of war.
"Don't worry Blue, I'll be alright. I'll just take a nap when we get back and I'll be back to being Lancey-Lance again." Lance offered.
Even still, love, I fear what happens next.

Lance did nap when they got back, but he ended up sleeping until the next morning. He heard his alarm go off, and begrudgingly opened his eyes. The pain was back in his eyes, and he groaned quietly.
Maybe I should go in a pod, But the thought disappeared when he sat up. He could of sworn he heard screaming, but maybe his ears were just ringing too loud. Slowly, he got dressed despite his limbs trying to resist. He tried to seem less in pain as he walked into the bridge. The other whipped their heads around when they saw Lance walk in.
"Lance, you're late." Allura said. She wasn't particularly harsh about it, just slightly put-out.
"S'ry, was just tired." Lance said, the tiredness still in his voice.
"Yeah, we can see that. You slept for practically 13 varga." Pidge said from her spot next to Keith. Lance attempted a weak laugh.
"Guess the battle took a lot out of me." Lance said with a small smile.
"I can't blame you, it was rough," Shiro said. "Should we start?"
They turned back to face Allura, who was staring at Lance with a concerned look on her face.
"Lance, are you alright?" Allura asked, stepping forward a bit. Lance swayed a bit on his feet, suddenly looking quite pale. The others notice this, and stared at him as well.
"Peachy..." Lance's was slightly embarrassed to have everyone staring at him. He heard a small gasp, maybe from Keith, who was suddenly next to him.
"Lance...your nose..." Keith said quietly. Lance reached up and put a finger to his nose. When he felt something wet, he looked down at his fingers, which were slightly blurred, but he could see the blood. Suddenly, his eyes started rolling back into his head and his legs gave out. He felt someone catch him, but voices were muffled slightly.
"Lance! Hey, wake up!" Was that Keith's voice? He couldn't really tell. He felt someone put a hand on his forehead, and then his mind went black.

There was a hill. Something in the back of his mind told him to walk up it, but what he found almost made him stop breathing.
Dead. All of them. Allura, Coran, Shiro, Pidge, Hunk. Keith. His mom. His dad. All his big siblings, all his little cousins. All bleeding out from the back of their heads, blood trickling down their noses.
"No! Please!" He tried to move, but his legs wouldn't move. Crying loudly, he continued to call out for everyone, especially his mother. How could he let this happen...such a failure...he failed everyone...so weak....

When Lance came to, he realized he was in his bed, only his legs tucked in tightly under the blanket. His arms and chest were free, but he knew he was too weak to move anything, so he laid there until his eyes focused, but then closed them again when his head started pounding. His breathing was all he heard for a long time, until he heard his door open. He didn't move his head, but when the person started dabbing his forehead with a cloth, he could tell it was Coran. The water was cold, so he groaned a bit before cracking his eyes open a bit. The man came into focus a bit so he confirmed it was Coran.
"Coran?" He mumbled weakly.
"Yes, my boy. It good to see you awake." Coran's voice was soothing, but Lance was still confused as to how he was here. Wasn't everyone dead? Had it all been a dream?
That's when he remembered blacking out in front of everyone.
"What..?" Lance realized he wasn't wearing a shirt, and was suddenly quite cold. The door hissed open again, and Lance forced his aching head to turn, seeing Keith and Shiro walk in.
"Is he awake yet?" Keith asked.
"Barely." Coran answered. Keith moved forward, and Lance reluctantly turned his head back to its original position to see Keith. "How are you, Lance?" Coran asked, still using a soothing voice.
"Mm...tired..." Was all Lance could muster himself to say.
"No doubt there bud, you should rest. We'll talk when you wake up again." Shiro responded. Lance didn't wait for someone else to talk before he drifted back off to sleep.

When he woke up again, he felt much better. He gathered to strength to sit up a bit more, and when his door opened, everyone walked in. Hunk was carrying what seemed to be soup.
"Feeling better?" Shiro asked.
"Yeah, a bit," His voice sounded horse and unused. "What...happened?" Lance looked around at his current situation.
"Dude, Haggar got you good." Pidge said, sitting on the edge of his bed.
"Yeah, when she blasted you it did something super weird to you. You got super sick." Hunk said, still holding the soup bowl. Maybe that's where the nightmare came from.
"Really?"
"Yeah! Your nose started bleeding and you black out. You had a really high fever. The pods made you better but you still were unconscious for like, five day." Hunk said.
"Five days?!" Lance examined.
"We had to tuck your legs in because you were moving so much. You kept getting nightmares, yelled for your mom a lot." Keith said with his arms crossed over his chest.
"I saw you guys dead...saw my whole family dead..." Lance trailed off.
"Well, were here now." Allura said.

For the first time in awhile, Lance felt at peace He wouldn't have to see that hill again.
