//Peggy POV//
I slipped my hand between the curtains, peering out into the audience, packed full of the other students. I saw my friends, Natasha, Bruce, Tony, and Clint sitting in the front row, giving my thumbs ups. I headed back stage, getting ready for the opening act. "Steve, where are you we need to rehearse!" I called, walking down the boys hallway and knocking on his door.
"What else do we need to rehearse, Peggy" he responded, opening his door in full costume.
"Wow, your uniform looks good," I reached out running my hand across the blue and red uniform, clipping his helmet beneath his chin. "Anyways we need to practice the kissing scene, considering you refused to do it until the day of," I sighed.
"Oh. Right," he mumbled, blushing.
"You can close your eyes okay," I said grinning to myself as I ran my hand over his cheek, "You know, give me a moment before we do this I just need to look at you okay?" I rushed, resting my hand on his arm for a moment before quietly heading back down the men's hall. I tap on a door gently with my knuckles, and it opens a crack, revealing a gleaming silver arm.
"What do you wa-" I reach out and slap my hand over his mouth.
"Quiet! Do you or do you not have a major crush on Steve?" I question bluntly.
His mouth dropped open and he began to stutter, "Uh- I mean, um, huhh, Peggy why do you ask?" He mumbled, his face turning red.
"Follow me." I grab his real arm, dragging him to Steve. "He thinks we are practicing the kissing scene, so go get him tiger," I whisper into his ear, gently pushing him towards the star-spangled man.
//Bucky's POV//
I stumbled forward, feeling Peggy's eyes on my back. I looked at Steve's chiseled features.
"Okay, I'm ready," I heard Peggy say from behind me, gently patting me on the back. I leaned closer, my eyes fluttering closed as our lips brushed together. I almost let my metal hand reach up to touch his face before I realized what I was doing. I felt Steve begin to pull away and I took a step back, looking down at my hands, and glancing back up to meet Steve's eyes.
"Uh, um, hey Bucky, I uh, uhm, that was just, huhhh, practice for the show yeah I'm sorry," He stuttered, before grabbing Peggy and pulling her into the wings.
"Introducing the original production by the Marvel High drama club, Captain America!" announced one of the stage hands as the curtains rose.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We all stood on stage, lined up to bow as the theme song the orchestra wrote and recorded began to play. The curtains rose for the final time that night, and we all stepped forward into our final bows. I held Steve's hand, feeling my face turn red as we all continued bowing until the lights turned down and the curtains lowered. The applause died down, turning into the mild murmur of congratulations and the crinkling of the thin plastic the held all the bouquets. I rushed back towards my changing room, hoping to get out of the school before Steve.
"What the fuck, Bucky?" I heard a raised voice from behind me, and I slowly turned around, my brows furrowing. I looked up and met the other boys eyes.
"Uh, yeah sorry about that, I better get going now." I abashedly spoke, turning on my heel and heading out the door still in costume. I began to scrub the red paint of off the shoulder of my titanium alloy limb as I leaned against the brick wall of the school pressing my palms into my head. I sharply jerked my head up as I heard the door open, and I peeked my head around the corner, only to see Steve looking around. I quickly pulled myself back into the shadows, and quietly begin to jog away, my eyes filling up with tears of embarrassment.
