Forgive Me

//Steve POV//

I arrive at school, trying not to think about Bucky, but still searching for his gleaming appendage ( ...;)) through the sea of high schoolers.

"Hey Nat, have you seen Bucky?" I asked her, as we brushed shoulders walking down the hall.

"Uh, yeah I saw him sitting on he bench by the front entrance earlier, but it looked like he was packing up to go somewhere else so I'm not sure anymore." she shrugged, waving over her shoulder as she headed to warm up for combat class. Giving up on my goal, I decided to wait until our first class together, which was advanced calculus.

"Steve, Barnes was totally checking you out," teased Clint from inside the classroom as I walked in.

Resisting the urge to turn around and look for Bucky, I went along with the joke, "With an ass as fine as mine? No wonder," I shuffled between his desk and mine, winking at him as I sat down. Mr. Coulson arrived a few minutes late, and began the class with a temporary paralysis smoker, containing aesculus hippocastanum and conium maculatum (hemlock and horse-chestnut)  oils combined with powdered smoke formula that is activated by excess oxygenation. We grabbed our gas canisters and headed out to the old combat field with gas masks. The gas should appear a pale transparent white, not very easy to spot unless you know what to look for. We each tested our canister design, but Tony and Bruce made the best one, Tony being a tech genius and Bruce being a biological weapon himself. Theirs had a release remote, and a pocket with 6 cubic inches of liquid oxygen, which evaporates immediately after coming in contact with the heat of our atmosphere. We put all of our gas masks back into a container, then headed to my next class, which was advanced calculus. I arrived a few minutes early, pulling out my notebook to work on the homework that was put on the board before class.

//Bucky POV//

I walked into advanced calculus, my heart hammering in my chest. Steve was already in class, doing what looked like homework. Talk about putting it off until the last minute,  I thought to myself. I went to sit at my seat, one person behind Steve. I mean, that one person happened to be Peggy, but still space. I looked up as Mrs. Whoberi arrived, glad for the distraction of math to keep me from staring at the back of his head.

I was mid problem when Peggy turned around 'cracking her back' as she passed me a note. I opened it, and it read:

I'm not mad at you just so you know. Just don't try it again, jerk.

To the end of the line,

Steve

 I grinned to myself, flipping the paper over and replying:

Oh you know you enjoyed it, punk ;)

I'm just kidding. Maybe now is a good time to tell you it was a dare via Peggy.

Bucky

 I reached forward, pretending to stretch my arm and back out, as I gently tucked it into Peggy's hair. She reached up, inconspicuously removing the paper from her braid, and passing it forward to Steve. He opened it, and I saw a grin spread across his face. He looked back at me and winked obnoxiously. I laughed quietly into my metal arm, then turned back to face the board.

~~school sucks so I'm not gonna write anymore of that today~~

The bell rang, and I rushed into the locker rooms, changing quickly so I could head to the lunch room to meet Steve, Nat and the others. I jogged across the school, pulling on my black leather jacket as I ran.

"Hey guys," I huffed, meeting them at our lunch table, "What's up."

"We are all having a slumber party at Steve's house tonight, do you wanna come?" Nat asks, and I feel my heart pick up pace.

"Oh, yeah sure. What time should I be there?" I ask, adjusting my bag on my back a few times before setting it down on the table.

"We were planning on going to our houses to grab stuff and then meeting at the park at 4:30 ish?" Steve answered.

"Okay, I'll be there. See you guys then," I start off, waving over my shoulder.

//Peggy POV//

I pulled Natasha to the side, whispering in her ear, "You see Stucky don't you," I ask, and she nods her head sharply.

"Of course, it's super obvious." She sighs, seemingly frustrated. "What are we gonna do," she turns and looks at me, our faces inches apart.

"We are going to play truth or dare tonight, and each person only gets one chicken. We give him some absolutely horrible dare, he uses his chicken. Next time he picks dare, we dare them to do seven minutes in heaven." I tell her my plan.

"Nooo no no. Not seven minutes in heaven, maybe just kiss." She responds, gesturing with her hands. "Does it matter which boy?" she asks.

"No, but they both need to use their chickens first." I respond, "You got it?"

"Yeah, we should probably head home and get our stuff." she waves at me and then jogs out of the lunch room back into the school.

That's weird, she needs to go home to get her stuff,  I thought to myself, gently shaking my head before heading outdoors into the mid afternoon sun.
