Shopping. The only thing that girls love to keep their minds off their problems. I love it too...but I don't like shopping for things that I don't need. I just always take the pleasure of looking beautiful clothes and bags. But this time, I'm at the mall for two things:
One, to go buy my best friend, Jasmine, a gift...which is the brown leather gloves she fantasized about all week-long.
And second, to get away from the house...specifically my parents. Even though they're rarely home, they spend their whole lot of time trying to convince me to get into the 'Biz' (showbiz)...I still love them though...that's just the part that I couldn't bare with them.
Every once a week, they'll come home...either finished with shooting movies, modeling, etc., or they just want to. They're big stars...everything's possible with their influential selves.
I got a brother, Christian Dame and, he's older than me. He's the best in this family of ours...he's the only one not bothering to talk me in their stuffs and just tells me to follow my heart. A good big brother, he is! My parents are so proud of him...because when he started being a model in college and he still is.
Me? Well, I can't be persuaded to things I don't want. But even if I'm no showbiz gal, the media still tries to find out about me...either it will start a scandal or just make our family look better. But me, being resourceful, hides my true identity from the people around me. In school? They don't know me as Sheyna Grey Adamon. They know me as Sheela Gray ─the normal, got-a-life girl. But that I don't tell to my parents...or they'll eat me alive. Only my best friend, Jasmine Daniels ─daughter of the owner of a label company─ knows about my secret...and she hid it for all these years.
That is why she deserves a great birthday present! I got two birthday presents for her...one is good and the other is the best she'll ever receive! If my plan works out, though.
It took me a while to get to the shop 'Winter Wear'. Finally, I opened the glass doors and it made a little dangling sound. The buyers just looked at me and whispered something to each other then got back to shopping. I just smiled at them and they looked like Justin Timberlake was present and smiled at me like I'm an actress, model, or someone famous. As if.
"Good morning Miss Adamon. What could we help you with?" A rushing guy employee who looked like the manager came up to me.
"No. I'm fine. But, thanks."
"I love your mom. And your dad. And your brother. And you. Please tell them!" He looked like a die-hard fan of our family. A fan of me??? I'm not even a celebrity. Then I just realized that he was gay.
"Uh...Sure, sure. And...uhm...thanks...again...???" I was unsure what to say.
He ran back to his employee mates and looked like a tomato.
Going back to business.
I quickly saw the brown leather gloves and rushed over to it. It was the last pair of its kind and I quickly grabbed it before someone else could.
But then...as my usual bad luck, someone had grabbed it as soon as I did. I looked, from the hand to the guy's face with one of my eyebrows raised.
I nearly laughed at his face because of his "disguise". The fake mustache was soo last year. He had big black shades and a hat. He wore pads under his shirt so he'd look like he's fat which was so obvious. He also has a fake ID without a picture and with a name Prickle M. Toe.
It was like so obvious who he was...even under his thick disguises. Kurt Arjake Tant...I know him only from the TV and I've never seen him personally.
Like me, he's flooded by media and everything because of his good looks even though he's no celeb. Like me, he needed to put on disguises. But unlike me, he wore stupid disguises and he couldn't get into the mall without girls flooding him unlike me. I'm actually carefree when I'm in the mall; the only place where I'm not followed by the press.
Fine, I'm often given attention by people but...who cares? As long as they don't flood me like when I'm outside this building.
He looked sternly at me. I just guessed since he was wearing black shades.
It took thirty seconds...I waited for him to talk and he just stared at me...so I took the liberty of speaking first.
"Hey. Mister. I was here first so give it here." I said and he looked like he was back to his senses.
"No you didn't. I need it." He hissed at me, whispering.
"Why are you whispering, 'sir'? I faked and he looked nervous
"I...I got...sore throat."
I chuckled
"You never thought that I'd be fooled by your disguise...Mr. Tant." I whispered the last part
"Ssh!"
"Nice going with the mustache. Really." I said, tearing it off and examining it.
"Ow!"
I just laughed and he quickly grabbed the fake mustache from me and put it back.
"Let go of the gloves or I'll tell the people who you are." I threatened
"Do it."
I looked everywhere if there're any people looking. On the last second, I felt guilty for him soo...I just did the second best torturing thing to do. Or maybe third.
-------
Kurt Arjake Tant's POV
I hurried to the gloves, noticing it's the last one there. The freaking disguises made me feel itchy and uncomfortable. Stupid mustache.
As soon as I grabbed it, another person did too. I looked at the girl.
Long black-brown hair tied into a ponytail together with her bangs, dark brown eyes...wearing a purple shirt, black jean jacket, black scarf, pants, and vans...I also noticed the simple necklace with a silver locket heart on the center.
She was beautiful. Not to mention, an Adamon.
"Hey. Mister. I was here first so give it here." She said, getting me out of dream land
"No you didn't. I need it." I whispered
"Why are you whispering, 'sir'?
I quickly thought of an answer. And ended up with a stupid one
"I...I got...sore throat."
She chuckled
"You never thought that I'd be fooled by your disguise...Mr. Tant." She whispered
I made sure no one heard her
"Ssh!"
"Nice going with the mustache. Really." She teared it off. OUCH! Damn it.
"Ow!"
I grabbed the mustache and put it back.
"Let go of the gloves or I'll tell the people who you are." She threatened.
It took me a hard time not to swallow nervously.
Not knowing what I was thinking...I just said:
"Do it."

Sheyna's POV
Without wasting another bit of millisecond, I stepped towards him so that our bodies were only centimeters apart. I stepped on his foot and sucker-punched him on the stomach. Then I grabbed the gloves "No need to thank me. You're so welcome." I whispered to him ─who stumbled all over saying 'Ow'─ then ran of to the cashier and bought it.
I paid for it then walked over to him. "Bye Mr. Tant." I whispered then walked out.
