Chapter 2
A newborn's cry could be heard resonating throughout a small city during the Heian era known as Neng Mu, in the city that is now known as Xi An. The infant, even at birth, possessed noble features. His pearly white skin had not a blemish to be seen, apart from the light pink, flower-shaped birthmark barely visible on his right wrist. He was named Tian Lan, and he carried the soul of Ao Lian within him.
[a/n] This as a fake era in China. It's actually a Jap era. Neng Mu is also a fake city.

A year after his birth, Tian Lan began to receiving memories from his previous seventeen years of life from many centuries in the future. From walking and talking to regaining his previous capabilities in Chinese, English, chemistry, physics, biology and maths, all of it slowly came back to him. The knowledge returned slowly like a tap slowly dripping water. Although his brain could not comprehend all of this newfound information, it was stored in the back as he continued developing.

"Da ge ge, Da ge ge!*" these were Tian Lan's first words.

There would have been nothing wrong if he were just saying it, but when he said his first words, Tian Lan had just hit one year old. Later when his bones had become hard enough, he began to walk. Wobbly steps first, much like a baby animal taking their first steps that developed into bigger steps, and bigger again. The bigger his body grew the faster he could move. His development continued rapidly until he hit the one and a half year mark where Tian Lan had long since been accustomed to walking and running. At the age of two, Tian Lan was fluent in Chinese (again)**.

[a/n] da ge ge –equivilant to big brother
[a/n] naturally he was fluent in his past life

At two and a half years old, Tian Lan had indeed, as the mysterious voice had promised, grown into a beauty. A beauty, that even in the modern world would have been believed impossible without countless surgeries. He possessed large, elegant eyes that drew similarities with obsidians, feathery, raven black hair and translucent porcelain skin, untouched by the sun. His beauty could have and would have caused him many problems had his parents not insisted that he constantly cover half his face with a black veil.

His parents convinced him to wear it using the excuse that going without the veil would be dangerous. Although there was no proof, Tian land took his parent's words seriously, and believed it to be true.
