The day dragged on and on, like any normal Tuesday. Stress of last minute assignments, piled on by my professors.
I watched as the minute hand, on the plain clock, got closer to the bell.
Breath... its almost over with...
I thought following the orders I had given myself.
As if answering my mini prayer, the bell screamed, piercing any listening ears.
With an automatic sigh of defeat, I closed my laptop and packed up my things.
"See you next semester Clara!" A friend called, to me, my drained mind couldn't recall her name at the moment.
"See ya." I called back nonchalantly.
My brain begging for a break, almost running to my car, just outside the building.
After a couple stop lights and several slow cars, I pulled into my lone appartment building.
Getting out, like I had done atleast a thousand times, something felt off in the darkness of the night.
Like I had forgotten something, or someone was watching me.
I quickly glanced behind me at the woods across the road.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
Hurring up the stairs, I unlocked my door and slammed it behind me.
Breathing an uneasy sigh of relef I flipped the light on.
A black object at my feet caught my attention.
Bending down and picking it up, realising it was a black envelope.
There was no label or return address.
Huh..
I opened it up pulling a piece of notebook paper out.
Hello.
I would very much like your help. Come to the edge of the woods.A chill shot up my spine, alarms blaring in my head.
Out of fear I looked behimd me, only seeing the door.
Was someone watching me?
I brushed it off as being some troll or it was put in the wrong door.
Setting it on my counter, forgetting the uneasy feeling, I eat and trail to my bed.
Not even bothering to change, I curl under the comfort of my covers; sleep calling me.
I woke later on that night from a disturbing nightmare:
Some distorted figure with no eyes, was looming over me all throughout my day, and everytime I turned to look at it, its face would split in half. Rows of jagged teeth lining the gap and a long slimy tongue flicked around. Long black like tenderals poked out from its shadow, making it look taller.
Overall my body shook with fear from the memory, that was still fresh.
Laying back down, I stared at the ceiling hopeing sleep would tempt me again.
