"What the fuck?!"

I still can't believe that I passed my college entrance exam when I took it while I had a fever. My brain wasn't working back then. I just shaded all the answers that I thought were right.

Damn, Gwen. You're smart.

I took a picture of it and posted it on my IG story. I put a caption of 'See you soon, college!' and chose background music. Marami agad ang nag-view doon. Some congratulated me, and some just liked it as if it was their way of congratulating me.

I was so happy the whole day until dinner came. Bumaba ako sa kusina and found my Dad reading some papers while my Mom sipped her favorite tea.

"Gwen, I heard the results are out," Dad said without looking at me.

Mom glanced at me, waiting for good news.

"I passed. Sa Thursday na ang scheduled enrollment ko," I answered. He wanted good news, and I delivered them. That's how our system works here in this household. Well, I'm using their money, so they want something good in return. Para akong investment at hindi anak.

Well, whatever! As long as I'm benefiting, walang problema! I just have to do good, and I'm good as well! When there's good news and results, all are well!

I didn't expect them to congratulate me. They never did. I just heard my phone vibrate and know what it is already. Dad transferred the money to my bank account. Iyon 'yong tuition ko. I thanked him before starting to eat.

"Thank you, Manang Pau!" I beamed at my childhood yaya. She only smiled at me before I went back to my bedroom.

Frances Bianchi: Gurl! Congrats! Heard you passed sa dream school mo!

Gwen Steel: Thanks! How about you? I'm sure you passed as well! Sayang at hindi tayo same school! Why did you have to choose La Salle over Ateneo, hays!

Frances Bianchi: Family tradition. But yeah, I passed as well! Hindi pwedeng hindi at baka maging homeless ako!

I laughed at her reply. Frances has been my best friend since preschool. She's very smart and pretty. I never bothered to befriend other people. Sure, I talk to them, but I never really tried to be friends with them.

I sat on my bed and opened Instagram to check out stories. I smiled when I saw the story of Gon, short for Gonzere. He was my senior back in high school. He's four years older than me, I think. He was quiet, and he was masungit. But he had a lot of friends, which is a mystery. How come ang daming niyang friends when he's not even talkative? Makikita ko lang silang naglalaro ng basketball sa court and suddenly they're all friends. Boys are weird in some way.

Well, we're not close. We didn't even talk to each other. But for some reason, we follow each other on Instagram. Weird. Nevertheless, his IG stories are all about his dogs, so it's fine. I love dogs. I liked his IG story before turning off my phone to do my night routine- skin care.

I was busy preparing for my enrollment the next few days. I prepared all the documents that I needed and filled out the application form. When enrollment day came, maaga akong gumising at naghanda. I love my productive days.

I decided to just eat sa BGC. I booked a GRAB at hinintay na dumating iyon. I was waiting sa gilid ng kalsada when someone bumped me.

"I'm sorry," It was Gon.
