HARRY HEARD WHISPERS behind him. Ugh. Again?
"Hey, Haz," a girl behind him said. Her voice was shrill and annoying. He already knew who it was.
He circled to see Crystal batting her eyelashes at him as if someone blew a fistful of sand on her face. Her face was caked with make up. Harry had to stifle a laugh. She almost looked like a clown. Yes, the typical popular girl in school.
"Yes?" He didn't really want to interact with her. She was always hungry for his attention.
"I was wondering if you wanna be my partner on the Valentine-themed party on my place." She smiled sweetly.
Ugh. "Sorry. Not interested." The truth is, he isn't genuinely sorry. He just wants to get away from her as soon as possible.
Crystal's jaw dropped. She can't believe he turned down her offer. The nerve! No one rejects me! She was speechless as Harry's retreating figure slowly became lost in the crowd.
"Oh my gosh, Crys. He rejected you!" Harminia chortled.
Tricia laughed along with her. "This is so unreal, Crys."
Crystal's face wrinkled into a scowl. "Shut up, both of you! You dare insult me! Me!"
Their gazes dropped to the floor instantly. Their lips sealed shut.
"I'm waiting." Crystal tapped her foot on the floor with her arms crossed. She was never gonna let someone insult her like that without being apologised to.
Harminia and Tricia both sighed and exchanged glances. "Sorry, Crystal."
Crystal smirked. "Good." Stupid peasants. Taunting me like that.

Harry was startled when someone placed an arm on his shoulder. He turned to see Louis, his best mate, grinning like a mad man. "What's up, man? Why are you grinning like a mad man?"
"Dude, you suck at poetry. Just accept it." Louis shook his head, still grinning.
"Bro, you're just envious. Admit it." Harry retorted back.
"Me?! Envying you?! In your dreams, man!"
"Whatevs."
"By the way, Liam and I were waiting for Zayn. But I got bored so I searched for you."
"Oh. Wait, tell me why you were grinning first." Curiousity was still bothering him.
"Do you really wanna know?" He wiggled his eyebrows and smiled mischievously.
"Duh. Why would I ask if I don't want to?"
Louis shook his head while chuckling. "Stop stealing my sassiness, bro."
"Shut up and stop changing the subject. Just answer the question." Harry was getting impatient.
He laughed. "Fine, fine. I saw your little scene with Crystal."
"What?! And you didn't even help me?!" Harry was disappointed. It was a mean thing to do.
"What? It was entertaining and I was bored."
Harry glared at him harshly.
"Aw. You mad at me now?" Louis pouted.
Harry sighed and shook his head.
"I just knew you couldn't resist me." At this, they laughed together.

Sue was strolling down the hall of the school, her head down. She doesn't wanna be noticed. It's not like she's renowned, but she doesn't want to deal with people right now. Especially the bullies. As she reached her locker, a breath that she had been holding for so long escaped her lips shakily. I hope they don't see me before the bell rings. She acquired her books and stared longily on the picture taped on the rear part of the locker. It was dark on that part, and only she can see it, fortunately. Others wouldn't see their picture. Yes, she loathed him. But it was the only thing that brings mirth to her. He was the only one who induces her glee. Of course, Niall and his friends do, too. But nobody compares to him. His dimpled smile, cheeky manner and - it's just everything about him. Sue let out an exasperated sigh. It's a shame that he lied and obliterated everything. She slammed the locker door shut.
"Um... Hi," a voice stammered.
Sue turned to the direction of the speaker.
A guy with humongous glasses and braces stood in front of her. His strawberry blonde hair was slicked back and his black doe eyes were fixed on the floor of the tiled corridor. The boy looked really anxious.
Typical nerd. She was glad. Sue thinks nerds are cute. "Yes? Do you need something?"
"Well, J-JM told me to give this to you." He raised his balled fist in front of her and gradually opened it to disclose a piece of paper. His hand was shaking violently.
She held his hand gently but firmly to stop it from moving.
The nerd flinched. "Please don't hurt me! I'm begging you!"
"No, no. I'm not gonna hurt you. It's just that your hand's trembling." This concerned Sue.
"I'm such a coward. To think that I was panicking while someone was trying to help me."
"What's your name? I'm Sue."
A flummoxed expression crossed his features. "You... You really wanna know my name?" I can't believe she wants to know my name. He felt heat singe his cheeks.
"Yeah, I do."
He felt the heat intensify - surely deepening the red in his face. "I'm B-Brian." He was hoping she wouldn't notice her effect on him. Of course, she'll notice, stupid.
"Are they bullying you, too?"
"Um, what?" It was a sensitive topic and he'd be happy if he just misheard what she said.
"JM and the others." Sue was suspecting that he's being bullied, too.
"Y-Yeah..." Brian scratched his neck. Change topic please. Change topic.
"They just won't leave people like us alone, huh?" She let go of his hand and got lost in her thoughts. Sue wasn't angry. She was sad. Sad because these bullies are doing wrong expressing their wrath towards others. Life if hard. Everyone else experiences the hardships, too. But letting it out by pulling others down is so wrong.
Sue felt someone poke her cheek. It snapped her back to reality. She blinked a few moments then looked up to see Brian's face slowly staining. He blushes a lot.
He was just staring back at her.
Sue giggled. "Thanks for snapping me back to reality, Brian."
She pinched his cheek.
The keen noise of the school bell startled the two.
"See you later, Brian. Gotta go!" Sue ran off and waved.
Brian smiled for the first time this school year. "Thank you, Sue." It was very rare to have someone who doesn't just talk to him just because of a favor. And Sue happened to be the first one in the school.
