"Why can't I see him?" you asked, confusion in your gaze as the mother of your friend looked back at you, exasperated.

But you were not giving up.

The answer is no, child," the mother answered and gently closed the door to the house, not letting you ask once more. You stood and stared at the door for a moment, then slowly turned around and walked off the porch and onto the wet, dew covered grass. You stopped by the pathway and looked behind you and up at the second floor window, and to your surprise, a little strawberry blonde head peered through the window, and you met the boy's emerald eyes, his full of tears as you met them.

Your ten year old brain began to swirl with hatred for his parents, and fear for the boy himself.

"Noiz..." your voice whispered, and you said his name as a promose.

You vowed in your mind to help him.

You would find a way.

It was just a matter of time.

..............1 Year Time Skip..............

You sat alone in your room, running your fingers over the leatherbound book on your lap. Noiz had disappeared from school conpletely, and his parents weren't allowing him to see anyone. No one at all.

You opened the book and ran your fingertips over the pages, wondering what words you would eventually fill the lines with. Your heart became heavy as you thought about him. Your beast friend from practically birth.

You looked down at the work book, and read the date for the thousandth time.

May 18th, 2007
Gifted to my best freind y/n
-Hold onto this y/n, I need you too, for me. Someday, I'll come and get it back from you to see how much you've grown since I've left you.

A single tears slipped from your eye and landed on the page, creating a wet mark but you didn't care.

"I'll help you Noiz," you said to yourself, and you meant it with every fiber of your being. "I promjse. Somehow, I'll free you."

..............4 Years Time Skip..............

"That's not what I'm saying Noiz!" You shouted, almost at your wits end as he looked back at you, his expressions unreadable."You could be empathetic for once!"

He simply looked back at you, a single emotion readable in his face.

Hate

Your emotions boiled over and you reached out to hit him. Your shot hit home and you hit him in the face, sending him backwards a little bit. His face held no emotion, and you clenched your fists again. The thought that he made no sign that he was in pain made you furious.

"Why won't you be on my side for once?" you cried. With that note, his expression finally changed, he showed guilt now instead of hate. you collapsed to the floor, holding your knees to your chest and burying your face in them as you began to cry.

"Y/n..." his voice reached your ears and it only made you cry harder. "Y/n, please, listen to me." You raised your head at his plea, your glistening eyes meeting his emerald ones.  "Y/n, I'm different. Different in a way that you wouldn't understand right now." Your expression must have said what you were thinking, because he reached out and cupped your cheek and met your gaze, close enough to you that you almost wanted him to close the distance and kiss you. "My parents had me locked away on purpose. I'm different in a way  that made my parents embarrassed of me."

"How are you different?" you ventured to ask, searching his gaze for an answer. He shifted his gaze for a moment, then met yours again.

"I can't tell you right now," he said softly. "Promise me you'll be patient and trust me."

"I promise," you answetee, heartfelt. "I promise on my life."

"I'll tell you one day," he said softly, then leaned forwards and pressed his lips to yours, pulling you to him and letting his hands wander down to your hips to lift you up to straddle his lap. You instantly took the motion, cupping the sides of his neck and leaning into his arousing kiss.

He soon pulled away for air, and met your gaze again, his breathing fast and uncontrolled.

"I promise I'll tell you, I promise you I will."

..............1 Year Time Skip..............

"No!" you shouted angrilly, pushing him backwards and punching him in the stomach. He veered back, kneeling to the ground from the impact. "I hate you!"

"You don't hate me," the 19 year old emerald eyed boy answered.

"I do!" you shouted back. "I do Noiz I do! I hate you!" His eyes flashed with emotion for a second.

Hurt.

"Y/n," he tried to reason with you but you had no intention of listening to him. Not this time.

"I'm done with you Noiz," you answered, hate filling your voice. "I'm done." You looked at hom, your heart broken as he remained keeled on the floor. "You could have told me years before Noiz."

"Y/n," he said, his voice unnaturally shaky. "I didn't want you to think differently of me..."

"Well I do now!" you answered, all traces of forgiveness gone from you. "You never trusted me!" His gaze shifted down and you knew your words hit home. "I can't believe you. All this time I've tried to protect you and help you, and you never trusted me. So you kept me at bay."

"Y/n, please..." he had no words left to beg of your forgiveness. And you refused to oblige.

"I'm done Noiz," you snapped and he looked up, wearing an expression you had never seen on him before.

Fear.

"I'm done with you Noiz," you repeated. "We're done."

You pulled the small leather book out of your jacket pocket and threw it at him. It hit him in the chest and he caught it as you left his bedroom and slammed the door behind you, going down the stairs and slamming the front door shut, getting far away from his house and him.

He looked down and opened the fragile book, seeing your handwritten words of hope and love for him, as real emotion finally filled his body and tears formed in his eyes.

"Y/n..." he whispered. "Don't go...Don't let go..."
