After dinner, Aurora, Espen, Lynx and Caspar tried to leave the castle unnoticed. The hardest part was to get past the sharp eyes of Mr. Phileas, in his little hut, near the entrance of the Forest. They had to be really quiet and go down the stone steps in the dark, which was very difficult, given that Caspar was constantly bumping into the others.
They went down the hill, passed by the gamekeeper's cabin, and dashed straight into the forest.

"For a moment I thought we were gonna be found." Lynx sighed, relieved.

He walked next to Caspar, who was looking side to side, searching for anything that might be dangerous, quivering in fear with any sudden move from the bushes or behind the large dark trees.

"We should hurry before they notice we're gone." Aurora spoke. "Where can we find the Fluxweed, Espen?"

"I think we have to go deeper into the forest." She answered.

"Y-you think?" Caspar asked, with his voice trembling.

Lynx looked at him and smirked. "You know, Caspar... Today is a full moon. You know what that means, right?"

He glanced at him. "No...?" A rustle sounded, making Caspar flinch, grabbing Lynx's arm. "Wha-what was that?!"

"Werewolves." Lynx said, trying his best not to laugh with Caspar's terrified expression.

"WHAT?!" He snapped. "NO WEREWOLVES! I DIDN'T ASSIGN TO THIS SO THAT I CAN BE EATEN BY A BLOODY HAIRY MAN!"

Lynx laughed, delighted with his response.

"Stop scaring him, Lynx." Espen said.

"Oh come on, Espen! Admit that seeing him like this is funny." He glanced at Aurora, who was crying from laughter. "Even Morty is laughing." He joined her.

"This isn't even about me and I think I'm the one who is taking this more seriously." She scolded them.

"You're right. I'm sorry." Aurora said, giving her a hug.

Espen stopped pouting. "Let's go, then."

"Yes, sir!" Lynx mocked.

"Ma'am." She corrected him.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were a boy." He said, pointing to his head, alluding to Espen's short hair.

"I'm gonna smack him!" She brawled, staring at Aurora.

"He just misses Hillary, that's why he's teasing you in her place." Aurora explained, grinning.

"You're the only one who truly understands me." Lynx joked, pretending that he was emotional.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's move." She said.

"Wait! What about the werewolves?" Caspar inquired.

They laughed.

"Oh, Caspar..." Aurora mumbled.

The four of them kept walking into the forest, deeper and deeper. It was getting darker and somehow it was like they were being watched. The bright glimmering moon shone above them, trying to illuminate the pieces of sky that they were still able to see and that was being hidden by the tall trees, slowly when they went in deeper.

Aurora was lost in thought. She was so nervous. She wanted to make the potion and go to the restricted area fast so she could search about her mother. However, that simple thought of her getting to know Regina, scared her. What if, after she finds something, she isn't satisfied with it and keeps investigating. What if she never stops until she finds her? Aurora was afraid she wasn't going to be able to let go. And then there was this absurd, but, at the same time, believable, thought that her mother might be connected with her and that enfuriates her so much. If that is true, then her mother kept contact with her daughter all this time and she didn't even took time to pay a visit? Not that Aurora would want to meet her after knowing what she was capable of and all the despicable things she did. But, somehow, she still had this urge to see her. After all, she is the woman who gave birth to her. She is still her mother...
