Rain in the Zora domain was a common event, yet the Zora people were able to be at peace with it once more now that Divine Beast Ruta's rampage was over. Link usually made visits, short and sweet, but with little intervals in between. He was always coming back for something; Swift violets, freeze arrows, the water beds, conversing with the people and completing the quests they set him. Although, after defeating Calamity Ganon, he was sparsely there at all. He mainly only went when duty called, suddenly very short with time as he helped Zelda rebuild her beloved kingdom.

It had come to their attention however, that a large group of monsters was starting to stir near Linebeck Island. Due to the island being quite close to the Zora domain The duo thought it best to send in some trusted troops to help. If Lynels were apart of that group - and if they did attack the domain at all - the Zora would not stand a keeses chance in Hell. This is where you came in. After helping your village from being attacked, you decided to enlist into the Royal Army. While fatigued easily, you were anything but weak. Years of working on a farm with your mother and the other locals had built up muscle tone and muscle memory. You had quick reflexes and were admittedly fast. Strangely fast for someone of your build.

A shock to anyone would be how quickly you rose through the ranks until you were part of Zelda's own Royal Guard. Only at the castle though, as she would only let Link accompany her outside. You were a trusted friend of most of the troops in your squad and had worked hard to build relationships with the people you would gladly call family. Therefore it shouldn't have been much of a shock when Zelda entrusted the Zora domain to yourself and two other members named Dominic and Neal, to you however it felt like you were an arm being ripped from a whole body. It felt like you were disposable and that Zelda had no qualms throwing you away. You'd never feel resentful to her as you knew that isn't how she saw it. She saw it as confiding her trust in you and giving you a chance to really set yourself apart from the rest of the faceless crowd that piled behind her. That didn't stop the genuine sadness of leaving your troop.

It had taken two days to reach the Zora domain from the castle and you were glad to be off the back of your horse, Caspar. You were starting to get saddle-sore. You jogged on the spot to wake up your legs while your dog Aspen trotted around your position with bright eyes.

A bridge separated you from your new home and you knew going back wasn't ever an option since you set foot outside of Hyrule Castle. Putting the best foot forward was the only way to go and you were prepared to do anything necessary to protect these people.

When Dominic and Neal had finally caught up to you, they scolded you for running off but said they couldn't blame you, the domain was absolutely stunning, even with the humongous fish ornament smack bang in the middle. Even from here, the sight of Zora bustling about was prominent. It made you feel like this was the place to be. It only took five minutes to get everything over the bridge, 'everything' being all the luggage you had been able to pack to make as little trips back as possible. Reaching the end of the bridge, you were greeted by two Zora, you all exchanged pleasantries and you were escorted to the hotel. It was explained that you were to stay in the hotel temporarily, free-of-charge, while the Zora finished up your houses at the end of the Eastern Bridge. You were starting to get excited when you were escorted to the throne room to meet King Dorephan. You had heard he was a wise, strong leader with a deep love for his people. There was nothing you respected more than a caring King or Queen.

"Ah, you have arrived! Was the trek very difficult?"

"Only a little. With Calamity Ganon gone there is a definite difference in the number of monsters." Dominic replied. You rolled your eyes, he was always so formal, he was funny though.

"I'm very pleased to here you had a better time than most. I trust that you are willing to start in about three days time?"

"Excuse me sire, but why in three days?" You inquired, genuinely curious.

"I can't force you to protect my domain when you haven't even got a permanent roof over your heads now can I?" He let out an uproarious laugh. "I would like you to meet my son, the future King. Sidon!" As he commands, a ridiculously tall, red Zora struts in. Honestly, you were sure time seemed to slow a little as he walked in. You eyes were looking everywhere they could, checking his dressings, looking for any sign of hostility or any other annoying qualities. You were satisfied with the pure adoration and excitement that seemed to roll off him in waves. He beams a toothy grin.

Did he just fucking sparkle?
