Nora,
I can only assume how confused you are. I know I left without telling you, but that's what I do. I run when I get scared. I leave when things get too hard. I don't let anyone get too close. But I broke one of my rules Nora. I broke it for you. You smiled and drew your way into my cold and sarcastic heart and I have no idea how you did it. I opened up to you and I felt something I haven't felt in years. I felt loved. I felt like I was home. You never judged me for my crazy hair or insane clothes. You never stopped me from calling people out for being assholes. You let me be myself.
I want you to know that you are so special to me. You have become one of the most important people in my life and I owe you an explanation. I ran away from home because my parents kept trying to control everything I did. I never expected to end up in Maine and I never expected to meet you.
I am going to ask you to do something and I don't know if you will, but it's the best and most me way to explain my story to you. I want you to pack your little blue car with everything you need for a road trip. Because I want you to do something you would only do with me, all by yourself. You are brave and adventurous Nora, and you can do anything you put your mind to. I know this may seem cruel that I'm making you go somewhere so that you can know why I left. But I believe this will help you as well, I think it's time you figured out who you are Nora. I think you are so much more than your small town. You are more than the quiet waitress. You are more than your art. Go find her for me okay? And maybe you'll end up meeting the real Huxley along the way.
Your first hint about my past is money. I have the perfect person to explain it to you. The first drive isn't far, just to Portland. I met a guy there before I met you and I never thought I'd meet someone who felt the same as me. I want you to go to his apartment, he will be expecting you. I want you to listen to what he has to say, and if you do you'll get the next piece of the puzzle.
134 Chadwick street. Apt A. Ask for Max.
I really hope to see you again Nora
Your friend
Huxley
