Chapter Two

Uriah's P.O.V

“Get up! It’s 3 AM! We’ve got an hour and counting!” Everyone is woken by Johanna’s powerful voice. Katniss rolls out of her hammock, forgetting she’s on top and grumbles, “I can’t wait to share a room with her,” as she hits the ground. Everyone gets dressed, chattering away. The room is filled with a palpable excitement. Finnick calls for everyone’s attention. “Ok, before we go, everyone remove your weapons. No tridents, bows, arrows, guns, axes, or wands.” There’s a collective groan as everyone empties their bags of weapons. Then Johanna yells, “Let’s go!” “Finnick and I built this portal so all of us can go through at once.” Tobias calls. We storm through the portal and arrive at an almost empty parking lot. One small car sits there. “There’s no way we’ll all fit.” says Katniss. “I cast a spell on it, we’ll all fit.” Hermione says. Augustus slides into the front seat, but Hazel pulls him out and pushes Finnick in. Augustus and Johanna have a small shotgun argument, but Augustus wins out. Everyone fits comfortably inside. “We are Disneybound!” exclaims Johanna. Everyone cheers as Finnick drives off. Everyone toys with their phones as we drive. I have discovered Flappy Bird and am now challenging Christina and Johanna to last longer than them. Peeta plays a baking game, Katniss and Tris take weird pictures of each other, Augustus builds with Hazel and Isaac on Minecraft, and Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny play Pottermore on the Safari app. After a half-hour car ride, everyone is bursting with excitement. We clamber out of the car. Finnick checks us in and we go through security. It’s the funniest thing seeing Ron closely examine the security sensors and mumbling about “Muggle inventions.” Then, we sit at the gate. Ginny pipes up, “I’m hungry.” Everyone mumbles in agreement. Tris runs a hand over the back of her phone. “This feels lumpy.” She cracks her case off and a large wad of green paper falls out. Tobias picks it up and examines it. “It’s $15,000!” he exclaims. He passes $1,000 to everyone and Ginny goes to get muffins for everyone. By the time we’ve finished eating, it’s boarding time. Tris walks over to Tobias and takes his hand. He’s shaking like crazy. We walk through the tunnel and onto the plane. Finnick takes out the letter and calls the order of seats. Johanna yawns and plops her forehead on Finnick’s shoulder. “Could he have gotten us an earlier flight?” she mumbles. Tobias turns paper white when the pilot announces liftoff. And as the plane leaves the ground, he squeezes Tris and Christina’s hands so hard, their faces contort in pain. Most of us sleep through the plane ride, except surprisingly Johanna who wakes us with her token, “Get up! It’s 7:15! We’ve got 45 minutes and counting!” Katniss groans, but it’s stifled by the huge grin in her face. Tris helps Tobias to his feet and we head off the plane. We stop by the bathroom and Ginny and Augustus rush off. We get held up at security because Katniss’ mockingjay pin sets off the security alarms, and there’s a few minutes of shouting involving, “I am the Mockingjay!” and “You cannot strip me of my identity!” but it eventually passes. Johanna is going crazy and can’t stand still for the two minute wait for the monorail, and can’t hold still for the ride either. Tobias very thoroughly enjoys the monorail ride and spends the whole time animatedly discussing it with me. It’s only then that I notice how people are staring at us. Harry and Hermione explain how the monorail works to Ron and Ginny. Katniss and Peeta are sitting wrapped around each other, suspiciously looking at everyone else. Finnick and Johanna talk loudly to each other and discuss axes and tridents. Hazel, Augustus, and Isaac talk about bottled stars and are given a wide berth because of Hazel’s oxygen tank. Tris and Christina stand back and watch the freak show that is our group. When we get off the monorail, Johanna is literally vibrating. Finnick hands her the schedule so she is occupied. “Hey,” she pipes up, “There’s another paper here.” She shakes it out of the envelope and begins to read while Finnick signs us in at the Disney spot. 

I have appointed Katniss, Peeta, Finnick, Johanna, Tobias, Tris, and Uriah as leaders by random draw. This is the schedule for days you will lead. Leaders will merely take vote for where to go and what to do.
