Dorothy's P.O.V
I turned another corner my holding the straps of my heavy backpack and shivering slightly at the awful Irish weather. It was warm but windy which completely eliminated the warmth. I looked at the shops and sighed, you see Ireland has a couple of basic shops, we had old people shops if you want to call it that, the shops where small and covered in clothes that only elderly would really wear, the shops smelled like new shoes and where often quite big. If you wanted a shop such as Primark or H&M you would have to go into a bigger city.
I stepped into the warm newspaper shop that held a couple kinds of candy, newspaper, magazines and a couple school notebooks for school. I smiled at the cashier, which she politely returned. Another thing about Ireland, people are loud and kind, they will say good morning even if they don't know you, they will start a conversation in every situation.
I grabbed a galaxy bar off thee shelf and shoved my hand into my black jeans and pulling out a crumpled five euro. I picked up a bottle of water and place it on the counter along with the fatty but delicious bar. I paid for it before stepping out of the inappropriate names shop.
Dicks ( no I am not joking I'm describing Ireland like this because I live here and yes there a news agent shop called dicks....)
I giggle to myself before running up the crammed road fearing for my life as 2 lorries try to pass each other out. I let out a breath before jogging up to the school making sure my navy school skirt isn't stuck under my bag and exposing my ass to everyone walking by. I walk through the reception and down towards the lockers. Unlike other schools, out lockers where in their separate rooms which where always really crowded and the juiciest gossip was always spoken. Someone got detention because they where smoking on the school grounds? I know it, blame the main gossipers, Jessica and Naomi. I walk towards my locker and open it smiling when a curly headed boy slid towards me causing everyone to grunt in announce as he took up 2 lockers to lean onto.
"Hello Dora." He smiled causing me playfully roll my eyes at the nick name.
"Shut up Ashtray." I giggled to myself causing a small frown to plaster on his face. He snapped out of it before giggling. I took out a couple of school books, which where probably heavier than me, and shoved them in my bag making sure I'm not forgetting anything knowing that my teachers wouldn't be very nice if I didn't have a book. Fucking assholes, I'm sorry I'm human.
"So miss Dorito, what call do you have first?" He asked causing me to slam my locker close and pull my key out of the lock. I look down at my watch and smile handing him the galaxy bar causing him to grin from ear to ear.
"The most dreadful, the most annoying, the most unimportant -" I started only for him to finish the sentence with me "-Irish." I giggle a bit causing his eyes to glisten a small bit before snapping out of it and taking a bite of the creamy chocolate.
"Alright, well good luck miss just turned 16." He said smiling and i gave him a lopsided grin, ah yes, not many people are happy to get older and older but to me? It feels like a competing for some reason. Almost as if I'm saying "yay I survived another day in hell and look I'm still alive"
