As I am still a student, quick breakfast meals are very important. Because of this, I eat oatmeal. And not Quaker's pre-packaged ones. I mean good old-fashioned large flake oats. Bare to the bone.

Oatmeal on it's own can be very bland and boring. So today, I am going to tell you ways that I like to spice up this basic meal.

Fruits
Banana: 90 cal
• Apple: 50-80 cal
• Peach: 66 cal
• Blueberries: 1 cup, 80 cal
•Strawberries: 1 cup halved, 50 cal

Fruits are a great way to give your oatmeal that sweet kick of flavour. Not only that, but the sweetness is completely natural.

Spices
• Cinnamon: 0 cal
Truvia sweetener: 1/2 teaspoon, 4 cal

Cinnamon is a great spice to use in Oatmeal. It gives the oatmeal a nice flavour, and is 0 calories! It's also known to help with weight loss. Sweetener is a great way to make your oatmeal a little bit sweeter, especially if you don't add fruits to your bowl. Sweetener is perfect because it gives you the same level of sweetness that sugar would, but with a less amount of it and with 75% less calories.

Other
•Peanut butter: 1tbsp, 80 cal
Wowbutter: 1tbsp, 100 cal
•Jam: 1tbsp, 25 cal

Peanut butter is delicious and provides a source of protein to add into that carb filled bowl. Personally, I have an allergy to peanuts, so instead I use a soybean replacement. It's just as good, and it won't kill me.

Personal Favourites
Everyone has a different way in how they'll eat breakfast, but these are my favourite combos.

•Cinnamon and sweetener- perfect for when you're on the go and just need to whip up something quick.
• Peanut Butter and Banana- great for when you're in the mood for some toast but want to keep calories on the down low.
•Jam: nice fruity flavour without the chucks, and less calories.

These are just a few ways oatmeal can be made more appetizing. Have a healthy and delicious start to the day!
