"Daddy thats impossible! Who could have taken it?!" Ariel rambled.
"Ariel, Daddy, I know who it was." A voice said from behind. The pair turned to see Attina with a look of pity on her face.
"Who?!" Triton and Ariel chorased.
"It was Mel, the sweet young mermaid i gave the tour to." Attina replied.
"Mel? For short as in...Melody?!" Ariel saw Melodys seashell locket on the sea floor.
"Wait, I meet my niece and i dodnt know it?!" Attina glared at her sister.
"Attina, I had no idea Melody was here, i thought she was safe at home with Eric...unless..." Ariel finished in a deadly whisper.
Sebastian gulped. "His Majesty didnt want to alarm you."
"How could she had gotten here?!" Ariel asked stunned.
"Morgana, if she gets her hands on my trident. Double the search party!" Triton bellowed to his guards.
"Daddy, why didnt you tell me? Sebast- wait you tried to tell us didnt you?!" Ariel asked shocked remembering the crabs cryptic message about that M girl.
"Guilty, Ariel. Now come on, lets go!" Sebastian said leading the way.
As soon as Melody was out of the castle, she knew to stop at once. No one knew where Morganas liar is except for her.
"There she is!" Sebastian cried out pointing a pincher at Melody.
"Melody child, please stop!" Triton boomed.
"Your Majesty, Im sorry, but this is the only way." Melody answered as she took off.
"Ariel, catch her!"
Melody looked behind her to find her mother literally on her tail. "Mother, please listen! Im not giving the trident to Morgana!" Melody panted
"Likely story!" Ariel hissed
Melody kept on swimming, she had to show them Morganas lair.
"Daddy, where are we going?" Ariel asked when she paused. Melody stopped too.
"Sebastian told me everything Mother. This was my plan, act innocent and oblivious so Morgana could scoop me up. Then come back and lure all of you to her liar." Melody rolled her eyes.
"That is genius, you have to admit." Triton shrugged.
"So you arent on Morganas side?" Ariel asked cautiously.
"No, she tried to kill me! I wanted to take the battle to her." Melody smirked.
"Ok, heres the plan." Triton whispered.
With Morgana...
The slimey octapus was lounging when Melody arrived with the trident.
"There you are my dear, and you brought my trident!" Morgana gushed
"Yes, stealing it was too easy." Melody answered.
"Now, just hand it over." Morgana reached out, but Melody didnt move.
"Were you ever going to tell me that Id be stealing from my family?" Melody demanded
"What are you talking about?" Morgana tittered.
"Mom, Grandpa." Melody sang as the two came out.
"What nut you-you!" Morgana sputtered.
"Thought Id be like my mother hmmm?" Melody mocked.
"Yes, the apple doesnt fall far from the tree." Morgana cackled
"Oh believe me, I have." Melody smirked handing the trident to the king.
"No!!" Morgana yelled.
"You are hereby banished from Atlantica!" Triton boomed
Morgana covered herself with her tentacles. "Quite the opposite, you cant ban your only remaining sister!"
"Sister?!" Melody and Ariel choursed.
"Step sister. My mother married an octopus after my father died. She had Ursula and Morgana. She always knew I was the rightful heir to the throne, but his daughters never got the message." Triton sighed
"Daddy, she tried to kill Melody steal your throne, I dont think banishment is enough." Ariel whispered.
"Mother!" Melody gasped
"She tried to kill you Melody!" Ariel protested.
"So you suggest we do the same to her?" Melody raised an eyebrow.
"Of course not, but bamishment is the best I can think of. Now leave Atlantica and never return." Triton bellowed.
Morgana laughed weakly then swam as fast as her tentacles would let her.
Ariel turned to her daughter at last. "Now tell me, how did you do this?"
"Morgana told me to jump into the water, which I did. The tail just appeared." Melody shrugged
"It happens because youbare a mermaid. True, you look human, but in your blood, you are a mermaid. When a mermaid and human have an offspring their child has the ability to turn into a human and mermaid. It happens only after the child turns 13." Triton explained
"And if I go on land?" Melody asked nervously.
"You will be human once more." Triton nodded
"We had best head home, right Mom?" Melody looked to find Ariel swimming with a big blue and yellow fish
"Melody! Come meet my best friend, Flounder!" Ariel giggled.
"Melody?! Wow you've really grown up!" Flounder exclaimed.
Melody giggled, "we'd better get home. Eric will be worried sick!" Ariel stated.
"Aw Mom just a bit longer?" Melody pleaded.
Ariel glanced at Sebastian. "Yes Ill deliver the message."
"You are the best!" Ariel kissed the crab. "I cant wait to show you these waters. Its where I grew up!"
"Ok!" Melody giggled. Together mother and daughter swam off to have many more adventures on land and sea.
