Chapter 4: The Dangerous Deal

Eric woke up with a start. He looked around but then remembered Ariel told him she would be returning to the sea. He went to check in on Melody only to find a letter on her desk and the tiny red crab on her pillow.

"Uh..Sebastian? Sebastian?!" Eric whispereed starting to tickle the crab.

Sebastian giggled before opening his eyes. "

Where is Melody?"

"Eric, I- I do not know!" Sebastian gulped.

Eric read his daughters letter. "You told her everything?!"

Sebastian cowered. "She deserved to know. I told her about Ariel going through everything to be with you! What happened?!"

"Melody ran away! She said she wanted more answers, she'll swim right into Morganas tentecles! oh...Sebastian you must go tell King Triton and warn Ariel if you can." Eric said leaving the room.

Sebastian had no choice but to warn the sea king.

With Melody...

Just like she had predicted, Morgamas two sting rays and Undetow the now tiny shark had offered to take Melody to Morgana. The stingrays attached themselves to Melodys rowboat. She knew to act all innocent. She remembered her grandpa was the king of the sea and he always brandished a large golden pitchfork. Melody fell asleep during the ride. When she awoke, she found herself surrounded by ice.

"Oh Morgana! You have a visitor." Undertow announced pointing to the back of a chair.

Morgana turned around in her chair. "Hello child. Sit, sit get out of the cold." The octopus spun around and came up to Melody.

Melody had to think of something to win the slimy creature over. The octopus had her sit down in her chair even giving her a block of ice for her feet. The octopus offered her a cold plate that Melody politely declined.

"I was hoping you would tell me about this pendant." Melody took the locket off her neck to gaze at it. "Why it has my name on it. My mother wouldnt tell me, she just doesnt understand."

"Your not the only one with a mother who doesnt understand believe me, i know just how you feel." Morgana took the locket fingering it gently. "Dear child,did you ever wonder why it has your nane on it? Because it has your destiny it?" Morgana opened it as it revealed mermaids swimming around Atlantica. "Deep down, you werent meant to be a lonely human. What you are is far more enchanting."

"A mermaid, but its not possible." Melody said dissmissively.

"Darling anything is possible!" Morgana exclaimed.

"You can turn me into a mermaid?!" Melody asked incredously.

"Piece fish cake honey. Now if i am correct, how old are you?" Morgana asked.

"I turned 13 yesterday." Melody said nervously.

"Ah, all you have to do is jump in the water." Morgana instructed.

"What?!" Melody asked confused.

"Just do as I say." Morgana said impatiently.

With King Triton....

The king had just dismissed Ariel to go to bed when Sebastian came swimming up.

"Your Majesty, something has come up!" Sebastian panted.

"What is it?!" Triton asked alarmed.

"Melody has run away!" Sebastian exclaimed.

"What?!" Tritons trident glowed dangerously.

"Should I tell Ariel?" Sebastian asked.

"No, go look for Melody. Ariel has enough to deal with as it is." Triton said firmly.

Sebastian swam off.

With Melody...

Melody paused unsure what to do. "If you think this will work, ok..." She dove in.

Seconds after being submerged, her legs began to meld together. "Whats happening?!" Melody gasped.

"Wait and see." Morgana sang.

As fast as the weird feeling began it stopped. Melody flexed her legs up obly to find a shimmery pink tail and two fins in its place. Melody gasped. "I'm a mermaid!"

"Now Melody dear, before you go, you owe me a paymemt. You cant get something for nothing after all." Morgana said casually.

"Just like your sister." Melody mumbled under her breath.

"Hmm..did you say something?" Morgana asked.

"No. Go on." Melody smiled as Morgana drew up a comtract.

"Now, your price for this transformation is to get me my magic trident. It was stolen from me years ago by a crazy keleptomanic. I would so appreciate it if you could return it to me." Morgana said shyly.
