Thranduil and I

I recieve a notice for an audience with my king early in the afternoon. I pick up the cream colored note, and break the wax seal, emblazoned with his personal seal, his sprawling script flowing elegantly across the page. It reads:

"I wish to see you in my chambers...
                                       —Thranduil"

I drop the note, blinking in surprise as it flutters to the stone floor. I thrust open my door and stride out into the lantern illuminated hallway, heavy silken robes billowing out behind me. Excitement and suspicion tingle in my heart and senses, Both confusion and fear invading my mind. I push them away with the reassuring prescence of the seal, knowing no one else could have access to it but him. I glide down the narrow stone halls, silently but swiftly, soon reaching my destination. Gently I push aside the intricately carven oak doors, glancing around the room for him. "hmm...you came." A velvet voice purrs from the darkness. Backed against the door, softly I reply, "What is it you desire?" I watch as Thranduils pale, lithe form slips from the shadows, heart beating a million miles a minute. I force myself to stay as he draws near, an overwhelming urge to run to him overtaking me. He takes my jaw in one hand, fingers adorned with many rings cold against my skin, his whisper in my ear doing naught but inspiring my mood. There is no alcohol on his sweet breath, but rather the fresh scent of peppermint. So focused on him I almost miss what he says next. "I...want you...." he murmurs next to my ear, and my face turns a light shade of pink. "I-I am just a lowly elf. N-not worthy of y-you..." I mumble, looking away, embarassed. "Do I have to prove it?" he asks quietly, placing two fingers under my chin, forcing me to look into his eyes as he gazes back into mine. "I just can't believe..." I trail off, his hand taking mine as he gently pulls me away from the door.

((Authors Note: I decided to post this in sections, and this will be "chapter one" I sincerely hope you enjoy this...per say, and you will soon see why, in my "Broken Shards of Dark" fanfiction, the sequel to "Crystalline Darkness", I felt rather compelled to write this. Once again, I hope you enjoy it, and, on an off note, deepest apologies to my dear readers, who, at the moment are far and few between. On that not particularly cheery note, cheers, and till next time. :)
