Sherri's POV:

"That son of a bitch!"

I can feel my face growing hot as I get up from the table and chug down the rest of my beer.

"So it's true?"  she laughs.

I shoot her a look that does not signal my amusement.  She still thinks that this is a game, but I'm so embarrassed I can't even see straight.

"This is bullshit.  I need to get out of here."

Terri's POV:

She grabs the bottle of whiskey and storms out the sliding doors onto the beach.  She walks to the edge of the water and flops down.  I can see her wiping her face and I can only assume she was crying.

"What the hell just happened?"

I was only having fun.  I didn't think it was that serious, but apparently it was.  I sit down at the table and down the shot that was left over.

20 minutes later...

I stagger through the sand and plop down knocking into her.  She looks at me like I am the biggest asshole in the world.  We sit in silence for a few minutes and then she just hands me the bottle of whiskey which I take a hardy sip from.

"I was only messing around..."

"When did he tell you?"

"About a year ago.  When you asked if I could pick him up from Omar's bachelor party.  He was wasted and he thought it was hilarious that you'd want to sleep with me.  Kept telling me he didn't blame you and while he didn't find me attractive in that way he was more than okay with you wanting it."

"So you've known this whole time and you haven't said anything?"

"What was I supposed to say?  Hey Sherri, how's your day?  I hear you want to fuck me?  Come on love.  That's just ridiculous.  Plus, he asked me not to tell you I knew."

"So what made you decide to tell me tonight?  Were you trying to embarrass me?   Because it worked."

"You know me better than that.  That was never my intention.  I just wanted to win..." I mumble the last part because as I say it out loud I realize how silly it sounds.

"What did you say?"

"I said...  I just...  wanted to win."

"Seriously Polo?  You dragged out my most private secret, one I told my HUSBAND in confidence, because you wanted to win?"

"Well you know how competitive I am..."

She can't help but laugh at my last line and I feel a little bit of relief as she nudges my shoulder.

"And honestly, I didn't think it was that big of a deal.  I thought it was a joke."  She looks at me and even in the moonlight I can see the conflict and longing in her brown eyes and I can't help but wonder...  "Or is it a big deal?"

We sit just looking at each other for what seems like forever.

"So I guess this means you win."

"Yeah, I guess so."

"Was it worth it?"

"Not if I hurt you.  No.  That was never my intention.  I never want to hurt you.  I love you too much."  I lean over and kiss her on the shoulder before just resting my lips against her lightly rubbing them back and forth.

"I love you too."

I sit up and put my arm around her pulling her closer as I kiss the top of her head.  She wraps her arms around my waist and snuggles her face into my neck.  We sit like that for a while, just holding each other and enjoying the peace of the ocean.

She begins to pull away from me and I place my hand on the back of her head just patting and smoothing her hair.  She looks at me and I smile and wink at her as she leans forward and kisses me on the cheek.  I do the same, but I hold on to her a little longer and continue to place little kisses repeatedly.  Before I even know what is happening her hands are in my hair and her mouth is on mine.  I don't even know who started it.  All I know is we are suddenly wrapped in a searing kiss that doesn't feel like it's ever going to end.  We have kissed a million times on set and off, but if you put all the passion of all those kisses together they don't even come close to equaling what was happening right now.  She tastes amazing like whiskey and honey and I can't get my tongue deep enough into her mouth.  I want to explore every part of it, and it feels like she wants the same as our mouths and tongues and lips twist and twirl and dip.  What is happening?  We should stop.  But I can't stop.  I....

Suddenly my phone is ringing, and this seems to snap her back into reality.  She pulls away, leaning back on her hands as we try to catch our breath.

"It could be the kids," I say as I pull my phone out of my pocket.  "No.  It's Sam..."

"Of course it is," she sputters as she gets up and heads back to the room clearly upset.

"Sherri wait..." I'm torn but decide to answer my phone.  "Hey Sam...  no it's definitely not too late..."
