I gathered my courage, now was not the time to freeze up and be scared.

"Who the hell do you think you are entering my house like you own it!?" I shouted, sounding a little more scared then I would have liked.

He continued to chuckle. My bad temper kicked in, all fear gone. Even though I knew who he was he could have at least given me the benefit of the doubt and answered.

"Entering my home without permission is one thing but laughing at me instead of answering my question is just rude and pigheaded." I said.

I must of struck a chord because he stopped chuckling, and glared. I glared back, I shouldn't have said what I said but my bad temper tends to give me courage that I don't actually have.

"You sound just like your mother...." He says coming closer to me. "Never being quiet when you should."

He picked me up single handed and threw me into the wall. I collapsed against from the sheer pain, regretting opening my big mouth. I didn't want to give in, didn't want to give him the satisfaction of hurting me, so I mustered all my energy and courage, and I stood back up.

"Maybe I should teach you to be quiet you fragile little half-human daughter of mine...you should know some manners when speaking to your father." He said.

My whole body was shouting in pain. He came closer to me and used his arm to slam and pin me into the wall. I stared directly into his bright red eyes, trying to figure out what I could do to just get away.

"There, quiet. Good girl Misaki." He said sneering at me. "Or should I call you Misa? I guess I could give you the choice.....your last choice."

I got an idea.

"You don't deserve to call me anything because you are nothing!" I shouted as I lifted my knee and using every ounce of strength I had, I kneed him in groin.

He yelped, collapsing to one knee and holding his grown in pain.

"You may be some tough werewolf, but you are still a man." I said. "No matter how tough you are, a good knee to the groin oughta hurt."

He growled. I tried to run for it but my body was in too much pain from the slam. I collapsed.

"Big talk for someone as weak as you." He said, lunging at me.

That was it I was a goner for sure. I closed my eyes, covered my face in fear, just waiting for the pain of him colliding into me but it didn't happen. I heard his growls again but this time they were different, more angry. I wondered why there was no pain, why he hadn't collided into me. Slowly I opened my eyes to see someone standing in between him and I. I couldn't believe who I was seeing standing there, I was sure that I had been knocked unconscious and was dreaming. The person standing between my biological father and I was Ryou.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, I looked to my side to see Kana kneeling down beside me. A mixture of emotions on her face.

"You did good Misa, you'll be alright now." She said.

My vision started to darken, the pain taking over. I tried to speak, tried to warn her of who he was, but I couldn't. She stood up and I couldn't stop her.

"I'll make you regret ever hurting Misa!" She shouted.

Kana launched an attack, but my biological father stopped her with one hand as if she were nothing. He picked her up by the collar of her shirt and slammed her into the wall 3 times with inhuman strength and speed. Everything was happening so fast. Before I knew it the same was happening to Ryou.

"I find myself not regretting it one bit." my biological father chuckled. "I found just what I needed to know."

"Who are you!?" Ryou asked, standing up.

"Matsuyama Hiro." He replied, then he was gone in the blink of my eyes.

"FUCK!" Ryou shouted.

I was horrified by what had just happened to my 2 best friends. I crawled over to them.Kana was unconscious, but Ryou was standing over us looking okay.

"Kana....." I said in a whisper.

Ryou knelt down beside me placing his hand on my shoulder just as Kana had done.

"She will okay."He said. "We heal fast."

I nodded, feeling faint.

"We need to get you out of here, do you have a bag packed?" He asked.

I stood up very slowly and carefully. Ryou watched me with concern as I walked over to my bag. I looked inside to make sure its contents were still intact as I wasn't sure when the bag had been thrown or put down.Kana started stirring, regaining consciousness.

"Ryou, Kana is...." I started to say but Kana had bolted up.

"Where is that bastard!?" She shouted.

"Gone." Ryou said. "I was just making sure Misa was packed....."

"GOOD!" Kana shouted. "We need to get the hell away from here, the faster the better."

I slowly walked to the closet in the hallway by the stairs, grabbed my leather jacket.Off to the side of the closet I saw my dad's katana, I grabbed it tearing up a little bit at the memories of him teaching me how to use it. Back then I had never thought the day would come that I needed those skills. Kana followed into the hallway shortly after, Ryou nowhere in sight.

"A weapon......good idea." She said. "Let's go."

"I don't have any shoes on." I said, probably sound silly being worried about shoes with all that was and had happened.

"You won't need them." She said. "You'll be riding on Ryou's back. He's waiting out back in wolf form. I know it's a lot to take in, but I'm sure your mom has explained by now."

"She left a video." I said.

"Ryou's quicker then I am, so if something were to happen on the way he could get away with you faster." She said.

I didn't like that idea, but I knew better then to argue. I knew that though that may be one reason Kana wanted me with Ryou, I had a sneaking suspicion that another reason was that she was not entirely comfortable with me knowing she's a werewolf.

We went out back and she helped on to Ryou's back, then turned into her wolf form and off we went. I looked back at my house, tearing up, knowing it was the last time I'd ever see it. Ryou came to a stop and turned his head to look at me. I snuggled into his fur, crying but feeling oddly comfortable as he started running again. I felt at ease being snuggled into his fur, I closed my eyes and finally succumbed to the exhaustion.
