"I can not let you leave, Lauren."
Those words echo endlessly in her mind. "What?" She stands up and walks over to where the concrete meets the gate. "You aren't leaving here for a while." Le Mort looks up at Lauren. She wasn't that alarmed, because she knows she can escape. "Okay.... But why?" She tries to connect the puzzle pieces. He gave her a ring, got jealous when she was with Phillip, and most importantly gave her a music box. Erik looks at her with eyes that both threaten, and adored. That is all he needed to do for her to get the hint. "Wait so you're... With me? How and why? Why not someone pretty like, Christine or Meg?" He sighs and goes back to his organ bench. For the rest of the day, Laurie sits at Erik's desk petting Le Mort. She teaches him how to sit, lay down, howl and bark on command, and give her his paw. Erik didn't talk to her, and frequently went in and out of two rooms for hours. And one time, he didn't come out. "Erik?" She calls him. No response. His canine walks to the curtain, and barks a few times. He looks to her and she goes over to him. She parts the curtain to see his room. It is a normal size room, but very dark. Only 2 candelabras light the room. A piano a long with several other instruments. A bed is in the corner of the room, but in the other corner is a coffin. She doesn't dare to go in, because she knows he will get infuriated. He is sleeping on the bed, with his mask on the side table. She can't see his face at all, but she still wonders why he wears a mask. She goes back out to the parlor when he moves a little. To keep herself busy, she plays the violin he had showed her yesterday. She tunes it a little, then continues to play. Le Mort lays down by her, and falls asleep. Erik gets up soon after and puts on his cape. She ignores him, and plays the violin quieter. "I have business to attend to. I wont be long. I will bring back food items for the remaining time of your stay." She turns her head and doesn't even want to look at him. She thought about escaping, but he closes the gate immediately. He is in love with her, or maybe something along those lines. As soon as she couldn't see him on the lake anymore, Lauren looked around freely. She discovered his talent for drawing and especially writing music. Their is a little stage with curtains and even little people figurines, near his desk. The scenery consists of dark red, black, orange, and odd costumes. Flames are on the side of the stage, and so is a figurine. Its a girl who has long black hair and is playing the violin. Is that Lauren? She takes a closer look at it, and it is her! "Why am I there? If he wants me to play violin, I should be in the orchestra pit. The costumes are a bit revealing, but I suppose he will have me make them. Maybe the production isnt definite." She sighs and sits back down. "I think I should give you a new name Le Mort. Your name is too grim for a sweet pup like you. How about... Oliver! I can call you Ollie." He wags his tail. "Paw." He gives her his paw. "Good boy!" She kisses his head and chuckles.
Lauren sits at the line between the water and land. She sticks her hand in the water, but takes it out quickly because its freezing. Oliver comes over and sits with her. She leans her head on him and sighs. "Anything else you want to show me around here Ollie?" He doesn't move for a while, but then gets up to show her something. He wiggles his way under a table, and pulls out something. Its a white dress that looks like its for a wedding, and it has her name on it in the stitching on the inside. "Well thats not strange at all!" She looks at it and its quite beautiful. That means a lot coming from someone who makes dresses. It has an abundance of lace and lots of tool to it. She yawns whilst looking at it. "Im very fatigued. Where am I sleeping Ollie?" He runs over to the swan carved bed, and jumps in it. "I guess there." She puts back the dress, takes off her shoes, and lays down in the comfortable bed. "Move over, pup." She nudges him, and he gets the hint to move. The bed is fairly comfortable, so she fell asleep quickly. Oliver was by her side and they both slept soundly. Not long after, Erik came back. He beached the gondola and looked around a little. "Lauren?" He says. Oliver wakes up and barks a little to get his attention. "LeMort, what are you doing?" The canine lays his head on a sleeping Lauren. Erik opens the curtains. "Oh she's sleeping..." He sighs and kisses her head before going to his desk. During her rest, she had a peculiar dream. Here is what happened.
"Laurie, wake up!" Lauren felt something on her arm as she slept. "Im up, what?" She yawns and rubs her eyes. Its Oliver. A. Talking. Dog. "What do you want?" He hops up onto the bed. "Do you love Erik?" He asks in a spunky voice. "I dont know, why? How the hell are you talking? You're a dog?" She assumed it was because she had just woken up. "If you're going to be here for a while, you should see if you are compatible together!" She sits up and looks around. She has no idea where she is because it isn't his lair. "Where am I?" She scans the room. He opens his mouth to speak, but instead a candy cane comes out. "Hell." Lauren looks at Ollie, scared, and confused. "Wait what?" He falls off the bed and disappears. "Bye!"
She wakes up and immediately looks over at Oliver. He's still asleep. "Oh no, wheres my cat?" She didn't take Crescent with her when she left. She hops out of bed and slips on her shoes. "Erik!" She says when she sees him at his desk. "Crescent! Where is he?" He seems taken back at her sudden panic. "Did you bring him with you when you came?" She shakes her head. "Can I go get him! I'll come back! I'll take Ollie with me!" He looks at her confused. "Who the hell is Ollie?" Oliver comes over to her. "Oh thats right. I call LeMort, Oliver because its less... Morbid." He rolls his eyes, and stands. "Fine. His new name is Oliver." She smiles. "Open the gate! Lets go find my kitty!"
