After the movie, we went home on the bus. I wanted to hold him close to me, but we can't do that. Only married people and family are allowed to show affection. I simply said "Goodbye," and walked to my house. I didn't go to my room. Instead my mother called me and I went to find her. She was sitting in the family room on the couch.

"I have wonderful news," she said with a large smile on her face. "Sit down."

"What is it Mother?" I returned her smile. I could use some good news.

"I'm pregnant. I was going to wait until your father got home to say anything but I couldn't help it. I'm so happy. We've been trying for years and I'm almost too old."

I embraced her happily. "That's great mom. I'm happy for you."

"I can't wait until your father gets home." She was practically jumping up and down with excitement.

"I'm sure he'll be just as excited as you. I'm going to go to my room, okay?" I went upstairs and took out my tablet. On it was everything I needed for school and recreation. One of my favorite things was the music, but you had to pay money to listen to it. My parents gave me the money to buy a couple songs and I loved listening to them. No one makes music anymore, so all the music is from the oldtimes, but it's beautiful. Sometimes I would wish I could make music, but it's forbidden. When I don't think anyone can hear, I hum along to the music, but I want to sing. I touched the button that plays the music and I lied down in my bed.

At 6:00, my father got home and I turned off the music and went downstairs to greet him. As I walked downstairs I heard my mom tell my father the news. He was embracing her as I walked into the room. It made me smile to see them so happy. Everyone is allowed to have two children and my parents thought they couldn't have one after me because for almost 10 years they tried without success, but now they're finally able to have their second kid. I hope it's a boy. My parents said they always wanted a boy since they already had a daughter.

"Welcome home, Dad." I smiled and hugged him. "Are you excited?"

"Of course I am. We get to have another baby. Just in time too. You're mother will be 40 in a couple years."

"Don't remind me," she said. We all laughed, and before we knew it, it was time to eat. The meals are delivered through a shoot in the wall, so it's always there exactly at 7:00. We went to the kitchen and sat down with our food at the table. Tonight it was spaghetti. I ate quietly, listening to my parents talk about the baby as I ate my pasta.

After I finished my dinner I went to my room and read from the history lessons on my tablet. History was my favorite subject. I loved learning about the oldtimes, even though everyone else seemed to dislike the past. I sometimes wished I could go back in time, but that's impossible. Maybe someday it would be like it used to be again. I finished the section about the oldtimes and I turned off the tablet. It was starting to get dark so I changed into my sleepclothes and went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I went back downstairs to tell my parents goodnight before going back to my room and lying down. I fell asleep easily and I dreamed of having my own family, but when I woke up I couldn't remember who I was married to in my dream. I hoped it was Landon, even though it was just a dream.

I changed into a clean set of dayclothes and got ready for school. I decided to leave my hair down instead of putting it up like I usually did. I went downstairs to the kitchen to eat my breakfast, which today was oatmeal. That was not my favorite breakfast but I ate it quickly and kissed my mom goodbye before rushing out the door to the bus stop, where Landon waited. We were early, so we had a few minutes alone.
