"Come on it will be fun." My dad said looking at the side mirror towards me in the back. I rolled my eyes and shifted my attention to the road watching the earth move past quicker than my eyes could follow.

"Stephan honey please." My mom said trying to get my attention I just moved away from her hand. Right now we were moving because apparently dad's job as a seismologist called for him to be in not only a different town but a different state! Just yesterday my friends threw me a going away party before I was packed into this vehicle.

My mom sighed before moving her gaze back to the front of the vehicle and I watched her. I couldn't help but notice how her bright red hair fell neatly behind her and her green eyes looked sadly out the window. I was a lot like my mom with fiery red hair that could be seen for miles but unlike her I took my dad's blue eyes. I was skinny for my age but that's also because I'd run like almost every second of the day. I had a good muscle build and I was relatively healthy for my age.

I felt a tinge of guilt that I kept blowing them off but I was mad and I wanted them to know it. Who knows maybe it won't be so bad? But I wasn't about to let my parents know that.

We reached our new house soon and I stared at it my arms crossed. "Come on Stephan do you wanna see your room?" My mother asked.

"No." I answered next thing I knew I was in my room my dad standing over me. "The movers will be in and out you can stay in here and help them with your stuff." My dad said before walking out. I sighed and looked out the window, "All this because of some underground activity?" I said out loud looking out the window.

Finally a couple hours later we were moved in. Well there still was unpacked boxes but they could wait till later. I headed down stairs for dinner my stomach growling. "What are we eating?" I asked quietly as I sat down this whole house was just wrong to me.

"Natures finest: Ravioli." My dad answered putting down a bowl of ravioli in front of me. I noticed they had there own and I quickly started to eat mine.

"What is the discovery?" Mom asked my dad trying to start up a conversation.

My dad swallowed his bite before answering excitedly, "We don't know but it was unlike anything we had ever seen tomorrow were going to send a team to investigate." He took another huge bite his eyes excited. "But it's almost like if the tectonic plates go off something more is going to happen then just the ground rumbling." He continued.

What more could an earthquake do?
