I did the first thing I could think of. I ran. I took off for the spare bedroom with Jason hot on my trail. It was a struggle to close the door as I tried to push it closed and Jason tried to push it open.
Finally, I fell back onto the floor and Jason stood over me. I seen Justin in his face. Justin's rage as he beat me. His anger when I managed to break free.
I began to move back in fear. Jason had a knife in his hand and he began to thrust it towards me. I dodged the slices, but he came close to getting me a few times. My heart raced in fear as Jason raced his hand. I quickly shot my foot up and kicked him in the soft spot. He groaned and doubled over in pain. I used this as my opportunity to run.
I ran to the bathroom and locked the door. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and quickly called Spencer. The phone rang only once before he answered.
"Mel, what's wrong?" he asked the moment he answered.
"He's here." I whispered, the fear dripping through my voice. "Jason. He's here. He's in the house."
"MELANIE!" came Jason's booming voice.
"Mel, where are you right now?" Spencer asked.
"I'm locked in the bathroom." I said, tears falling down my cheeks. "Reiders, his just like Justin. I'm so scared."
"Calm down, okay? I'm on the way. Do you think you can hold off for about an hour?" he asked.
"I don't know. I can try." I said.
"That's my girl. I'll be there soon."
And with that, he hung up. I hugged my phone to my chest. My heart was pounding. I was scared out of my mind. Could I hold off for an hour? How long would it take till Jason managed to break down the door? Where would I go then?
I couldn't give up. I had to fight. For Spencer. For Haley. For our unborn child.
I screamed as there was a bang on the door and I seen an inch or so of Jason's blade. He found me. He was beating down the door. Don't panic, Mel. Don't panic.
"Unlock the door, Melanie. You can't hide from me forever." came Jason's cold and scary voice. It brought me back to all those years ago when I was hiding from Justin in the abandoned warehouse not too far from Uncle Aaron's house.
"You can't hide from me, babe. Now, time for you to repay for that little stunt you pulled." came his haunting voice.
The door swung open, almost coming off the hinges. Jason towered over me with a pissed expression. I cowered in the corner next to the shower.
"Now, time to say goodbye." he said.
"Okay." I said, regaining my confidence. "Goodbye."
I grabbed the shower head and bashed Jason over the head with it. He collapsed on the floor. I grabbed his knife and made a run for it. Where was Gideon?
I heard Jason's footsteps behind me as I raced back into the living room. I grabbed a flower vase and threw it at him. He dodged it.
"I thought you were strong, Melanie. Why don't you fight me, huh? Why do you keep running?" he challenged.
"What would you do when someones trying to kill you?" I questioned.
Jason came after me. His hand swung and punched me in the face. I stumbled back, but returned the punch. I forgot I had the knife in my hand, so when my hand came across his face, it caused a cut. Jason exclaimed and held his face.
"You bitch!" he yelled. His hands went for my throat. I struggled against him as his hands closed around my windpipe. I gasped for air. Everything was becoming blurry and spotted.
"No." I wheezed.
"What's the matter, Melanie? Surprised that you lost? There's a first time for everything. Looks like this will be your last, too. Tell my brother I say hello."
"Y-You can't k-kill me." I wheezed, managing to loosen his grip a little on my neck.
"Oh? And why can't I?" he sneered.
"Because I'm pregnant."
Jason's eyes widened. He backed up, taking his hands from my neck. I took a deep breath and fell to the ground. I curled up, guarding my stomach as I coughed.
"You're lying." Jason said. "Y-You're not really pregnant."
"Y-yes I-I am." I stuttered. "N-Nearly th-ree months now."
Jason made an "O" shape with his mouth. He began pacing the living room. I put my head on the floor. I felt lightheaded. I wasn't going to pass out. I was going to stay awake to watch Spencer arrest this asshole.
Jason ran his fingers through his hair and stopped pacing. He looked down at me.
"I have morals." he said, mainly to himself.
I didn't know what that meant. All I knew was that when he picked up his knife, I didn't panic. I just looked away and waited for it to happen. I knew what it was like to be stabbed, so I waited for the familiar pain.
Instead, I heard a thump. I looked up to see that Jason was lying on the floor with the knife in his chest. I quickly sat up and raced over to him. I felt his pulse on his neck and his wrist. Nothing.
Jason was now with his brother.
