*Reid's POV*

It had been a week since Haley was moved to Los Angeles and Mel to Chicago. Leah had called me to tell me that her and Haley made it there safe and Mel did the same. I haven't heard from either since.

We had also told Debra about Jason's letter and that we had moved Haley and Mel. That was our first mistake.

It was late one night and I had stayed at the BAU office. I rarely went home anymore and rarely slept, so I had fallen asleep at my desk. I was soon awoken by Garcia shaking me violently. I jumped and looked up at her.

"Garcia? What's wrong?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.

"I bugged Debra's phone when she was here last week. Jason called her yesterday. I think you may wanna hear this."

She turned on her heel and walked back to her office. I quickly followed her, still half asleep. The minute I walked into her office, she clicked something on her laptop and the room was filled with the voices of Debra and Jason.

"Hello?" came Debra's voice first.

"I've been in Las Vegas for a little over a week and I can't find Melanie anywhere. Please tell me you found something from those little BAU idiots." Jason snarled.

At first, I was hopeful. I thought Debra would give him false information and send him on a wild goose chase until we found him. Never have I been so naïve.

"They moved her." Debra told him. "She's in Chicago. An old BAU member lives there. Jason Gideon. He's elderly, Jason, so don't you hurt him."

My jaw dropped. I tried to say something, but I was speechless. Garcia noticed my state and informed me, "That's not even the worst part."

"I'm not about to hurt anyone other than Melanie." Jason said.

"Then what about that letter you sent Aaron about killing Haley?"

"That was a diversion. I knew they'd move Haley away from Melanie, that way she wouldn't get hurt. I may be trying to kill her, but I have morals, Debra." Jason suddenly began to chuckle. "I can't believe those BAU idiots were stupid enough to trust you."

"What can I say? I'm a good actress." Debra chuckled. "I'll call you if I get anymore information."

"I'll call if I need any."

There was a click and they were both gone. I was completely shocked. I had no idea what to say. To think I trusted Debra. I believed her when she said she didn't want to kill Mel. I was just as gullible as the rest of the team.

"Call Hotch. Track that phone. We need to arrest her now for obstructing justice." I said. "And call Jeff (the guy who flies the jet) and tell him I need the jet ASAP. I have to get to Chicago before he does."

"Reid, there's a chance he's already there."

"Well, looks like I need to have a chat with the liar." I said and dialed Debra's number. "Debra? It's Spencer. Meet me at the BAU office right now. I have some information on Mel."

"What's happened? Is Melanie okay?" was the first thing out of Debra's mouth when she walked into the office. I had to hold back an eye roll what a liar.

"She's fine." I assured her. "But you won't be."

Morgan came up behind Debra and quickly handcuffed her.

"What? What's going on? Why are you handcuffing me? I haven't done anything wrong." she said, struggling against Morgan's grip.

"I heard that phone call between you and Jason. I know you were only using us to get intel so that he could kill her. And to think, I actually believed you when you said you didn't want to kill your only daughter." I hissed.

"Debra Anderson, you're arrested for obstructing justice. You have the right to remain silent. Everything you say can and will be held against you." Morgan said, fighting against the struggling Debra. "You have the right to obtain a lawyer-"

"No." I cut him off. "Not yet. Not until she tells me where Jason is."

"I'll never speak." Debra spat. "Yes, I did lie about wanting to save Mel's life, yes, I did lie when I said I had no idea where Jason is and yes, I have been using you to get information to Jason. But I'll never rat him out. I refuse!"

"Sadists can't love." I stated. "No wonder you're such a heartless bitch. Tell me right now, Debra. Where's Jason?"

"I'll never tell. I want my lawyer."

"You have no right to a lawyer until you tell me where Jason is!" I yelled. This took Morgan back a bit. It was rare when I yelled.

"Tell him." Morgan snarled into Debra's ear. "And we might go easy on you."

Debra looked me dead in the eye and I stared back.
