It was Christmas and everyone was gathered around the fireplace that was lit inside 221B Baker Street. Christmas lights had been carefully placed along the walls and presents were being exchanged among the guests. Sherlock, John, Mary, Molly, Lestrade and Mrs Hudson had all arrived full of Christmas spirit. Well... Maybe not Sherlock. His mind seemed to be elsewhere.
Tears of joy were shed before party music abruptly began to play. John leaped up from his seat.
"Ok everyone! I hope you all enjoy yourselves- even you, Sherlock!" John announced as everyone began to laugh at his comment, "I'm coming around with a mistletoe so watch out!"

Sherlock's mind was focused on a small book he was given as a present as everyone began dancing to the music. Anything was better than celebrating Christmas. The words became nearly impossible to read as a shadow appeared over the book. As Sherlock glanced up, he noticed Molly just standing there.
"Do you like your present I got you?" She asked, making a gesture towards the book.
"Yes. Uh... Thank you," Sherlock stuttered. Molly's face lit up and her eyes twinkled despite it being quite dark. Sherlock tried hard to resist the urge to smile but he couldn't help it. When Molly was happy, he seemed to be happy.
Everything went quiet for the moment. Not a word... Even the music had stopped. Eventually the silence was broken by everyone else oo-ing and ah-ing. Sherlock and Molly turned to notice John holding the mistletoe above their heads. He glared back at them, the largest grin on his face, "Rules are rules!"
Sherlock stood up from his seat, placing the book onto the table beside him. John and Sherlock made eye contact.
"You should know by now that I'm a rule breaker!" Sherlock pushed John slightly and walked away feeling embarrassed.

The party was coming to an end and as the music once again faded, Molly heard footsteps just as she was about to leave. She ignored them. It was probably just John going to find Sherlock. She opened the door, ready to go when she felt someone grip onto her wrist.
It was Sherlock.
"Now that most people are gone..." He whispered, pulling her in closer, "We can have that kiss!"
