After escaping Malfoy Manor, Hermione and Luna share a room at Shell Cottage.

Hermione's P.O.V.

It's like a thousand red hot knives are digging into my skin. I yell out and all that I hear is Bellatrix's menacing laugh. I'm screaming. My sanity is slowly leaving me. Everything is going hazy.

"Hermione. Wake up. It's just a dream." Luna's dreamy voice chases off my nightmare. I'm shaking. Luna looks at me then leaves our shared room.

"Hermione. Are you okay? What happened? Luna said you needed me." Ron says, panting from running to my room. He walks over and sits down on the edge of my bed. I fall into him and start to sob. He wraps his arms around me, engulfing me in a hug. My body shakes as I cry. Ron plays with my hair, calming me down.

"In, in the manner your voice kept me going. It gave me something to hold onto." I whisper.

"I'll always be here for you Hermione. I'll be your anchor when you're drifting away. I'm never going to leave you. If I have to jump off a cliff to reach you, swim across the ocean, I will. I'm so sorry I couldn't save you sooner." Ron whispers into my hair.

"Don't be sorry. Please. It's not your fault." I tell him, looking at my soon to be scar. Ron catches me looking at it. He gently grabs my arm, pulling my attention away.

"This means nothing Mione. You're the brightest witch of our age. Blood doesn't determine your talent. You would be the same Hermione even if you were half-blood or pure-blood.  You can't believe this. This word, 'mudblood', it holds no meaning about you. Just because you are muggle-born, it means nothing. Absolutely nothing." Ron finishes, and wipes away the tears that escaped my eyes. I hug him, afraid he'll fade away. Afraid it's just a dream.

"Thank you." I whisper into his chest.

"You're welcome Hermione." I hear Ron whisper back. "I'll never leave" is the last thing I hear Ron say before I fall asleep.
