Darkness swallows whole
Not half
Not semi
Not in pieces
It opens its jaws
It consumes
Anything
Everything
What is not strong will not stand
The old
The lost
The weak
The strong
The kind
The cruel
Darkness has no bias
He is strong enough to carry them all
However a child,
A wee little thing
One full of strength and pain,
One kind and simple
One with hope
His grip simply cannot hold her.
Darkness can take the world
It can destroy monuments and civilization
It can tear apart even the closest of bonds
It can ruin a person from the inside out
But never a child
Darkness will never be able to take her.
