Lena woke up to the sound of her alarm clock beeping loudly. She hit the snooze button on the top making the room become silent. She smiled and closed her eyes, but was startled back awake by her phone alarm going off. She must have been very prepared knowing she wouldn't listen to the alarm clock. Lena snoozed the alarm and sat up, untangling her legs from her warm blankets. She was disappointed that she didn't get to sleep more, she disconnected her phone from its charger.
Lena looked at the time and didn't register that she had ten minutes to get ready, but when she looked again she nearly dropped her phone. She set her phone down on the bedside table and ran into her closet. She didn't remember leaving the door open, but she didn't have time to over think it. She quickly changed into a pair of skinny jeans and a navy blue sweater, her figure was small and she didn't have the 'goods' other girls did. She slipped on her black converse after she had put her socks on then rushed to the bathroom after grabbing her phone.
Lena checked her phone and noticed she didn't really have enough time so she quickly brushed her teeth and fixed her hair in the mirror. Her hair was kind of strange to others, it was short and wavy which was beautiful, but the thing was she had a natural ombre. No one understood how her hair did that and strangers always assumed she had died it, but Lena had never died her hair in her life. Her eyes were like a crystal blue ocean.
Audrey, her friend, constantly reminded her of how 'perfect' she was since she didn't need to wear makeup to cover anything up. Lena rarely got pimples and her lips were natural shade of pink so she didn't need foundation or lipgloss. Lena's eyelashes were long and beautiful which made Audrey absolutely jealous. Lena rushed out of the bathroom, and back into her bedroom to grab her phone and bag. She ran downstairs, almost falling down them, and grabbed some toast that was sitting on a plate.
"Lena, please refrain from waking up late. I get that you have good grades, but you also need sleep remember?" her mother said kissing her cheek quickly. As Lena was running towards the door she grabbed the car keys "Sorry Mom, I was studying for my upcoming tests, but I promise I won't stay up to late tonight" she said leaving the house and running towards the car.
Lena quickly jumped into the drivers seat and started the engine. As she was about to leave her Matt, her brother, ran out of the house. He jumped into the passenger seat and Lena began driving to the school. Matt was the same as Lena, no pimples and long lashes. He has short brown hair and the tips of his hair were a lighter shade that blended nicely. His eyes are the color of a forest of evergreen trees instead of blue.
As Lena parked the car in the high school parking lot she took the keys out of the ignition and jumped out of the car. Matt did the same as Lena, locking the doors behind him, and shoved the keys into her brown messenger leather messenger bag. They both ran into the school and were greeted by a very angry Audrey "You guys almost missed the warning bell! Are you insane!?!" she yelled at them. Their school is strict so if you miss the warning bell you are locked out of the school.
RIIINNGG the warning bell sounded out through the school. "Speak of the devil..." Lena mumbled which made Matt chuckled softly and made Audrey glare. Lena and Matt's lockers were right next to each other thanks to their parents. Lena quickly unlocked her locker, pulled her textbooks out of her bag, and put them back in. She then did the same with her laptop and her notebooks. After that she gathered what she need for class and helped Matt open his locker.
"Thanks sis, I never really got the hang of this" he said which made Lena laugh "I can tell" she said walking away with Audrey on her arm. "Your brother is so cute Lena!" she said which made Lena gag "Please no Audrey... Don't go after my brother please" she begged, but Audrey just smirked. Great... If my brother and my bestie got together I would die... Lena thought to herself.
