Lena wandered around the old building where her brother, best friend, and two strangers brought her to. She wanted to go home so bad, but knew she wouldn't be able to unless she wanted to get killed. Lena fished her phone out of her pocket, and saw almost a hundred messages from her parents. A wave of guilt washed over her body as she started to feel bad for making them worry. Lena opened the messanger app, and saw an alert pop up on her phone. She knew what that meant.

Her parents had put a tracker on her phone so when it was turned on they could check her location. Lena threw her phone on the ground, and stomped on it. "Matt!" she yelled which got everyone's attention. Jeremy ran over to Lena "Whats wrong?!?" he said worriedly. "They're coming... They tracked my phone!" she yelled. Lena didn't know why she was warning them, but she knew she needed to.

After the warning, everyone in the old building rushed around to get everything they needed to protect their building. Lena rushed over to Matt, Audrey, and Blake. "Why are they staying? They should be getting out of here!" she yelled at them. "We have lived here for a long time we aren't going to abandon this place" Blake said back to her, and Audrey nodded.

"You don't understand... none of you do! They can tear this whole building apart, and kill all of you with it!" Lena yelled back, and was surprised when she heard Jeremy say "She's right, we need to pack everything and go." Blake was surprised too as was everyone else. They obeyed even though most of them grumbled objections. "Jeremy, we can't leave this place! Its our home!" Blake yelled, but grew silent when Jeremy glared at him.

Everyone gathered in the lobby of the old building ready to leave. That's when we heard it, there were loud noises coming from outside, and I could tell they had arrived. There was a beep then a loud booming voice that Lena recognized, it was her mother. Lena looked at Matt, and hugged him. He knew how much she wanted to go home, but he also knew that he couldn't. A little girl started to cry which sounded off a loud noise.

Jeremy tried to calm her down, but couldn't. Lena walked over to the little girl, and smiled. She hugged the little girl, and whispered "Everything will be okay" she whispered, and the little girl hugged back as tight as she could. Lena released the little girl, but held her hand to show that the little girl wasn't alone. That's when the worst thing possible could happen, the little girl let go of Lena's hand, and crumpled to the ground. Lena kneeled beside the little girl, and watched as a pool of blood spread out from under her, they shot her.

Lena's hands clenched into fists. That little girl had done nothing to deserve this, she hadn't asked to be born as a gifted. She couldn't control herself anymore because the next thing she knew, the wings that had appeared before appeared again, but their colors were more dark, and the fire burned hotter. Lena stood up slowly, and everyone backed away so they didn't get scorched by the fire burning from her back. Where the wings had sprouted, her shirt had burned away revealing designs on her back.

Lena walked towards the doors that were blocking her from the hunters. The door exploded into a million pieces as Lena walked through the doorway ready to kill. The hunters didn't give up though, they fired their guns directly at her, but they just melted when they got to close. Lena's eyes started to glow the same color as her wings, and she sent a wave of fire at the hunters scorching them.

There were only a few hunters left, and most of them were injured. Lena was still at full power, but she didn't want to hurt anyone else. The flames slowly started to disapate as Lena walked towards the hunters. She stopped at a safe distance, and yelled "Why did you kill that little girl?! She did nothing wrong!" Lena's hands balled up into fists as the words spewed from her mouth.

"She was a gifted Lena! You know what we have to do to Gifted!" Her mother yelled back "So I suppose you have to do that to Matt and I too huh?" Lena said looking hurt. Her mother avoided eye contact "Yes" was all she said. Lena turned around, and ran back to the building. Almost everyone was gone, but Jeremy, Blake, Cam, Matt, and Audrey had stayed behind. "Are you okay?" Matt asked, but she just shook her head.  How could she be okay when she just witnessed a little girl being killed?

As they caught up with the rest of the group, Lena turned back once to look at the building. Lights were shining inside as the hunters searched for other gifted, but there was no one in there, she knew because the whole group was together. "Where's Sophia?!?" Someone yelled as they ran around looking through the group "Sophia? She was right behind- Oh no..." Another person said aloud. Lena looked at the building and saw a little girl running out of it.

Behind her, were two dogs running after her. Lena couldn't just sit there and watch as the little girl could be ripped apart. Her eyes glowed as her wings came back, and she darted towards the little girl. She scooped the tiny girl up, and flew back to the others. "Sophia! Don't ever do that again!" A man yelled. The little girl nodded, and looked towards Lena "Thank you" she said with a small smile that warmed Lena's heart up, maybe the gifted weren't so bad.

The group made their way to the next building in search for refuge, but the gifted there didn't allow them to stay. Every building they had visited, they were kicked out of. When they finally found a building with people that allowed them to stay, they heard sounds coming from outside. "We need to lead the hunters away from the building" Jeremy said. Antonio, whom Lena had never met before, came out of the shadows and nodded.

Matt, Cam, Lena, Jeremy, Blake, Audrey, and Antonio were going to lead the hunters away as the rest of the group hid. "For the sake of the others..." Antonio said in a husky voice. We all nodded then ran out of the building, we spread out in different directions. As Lena ran, she heard loud footsteps from behind her. "Lena, stop running and just come with us please! We can help you!" her mother yelled from behind her.

Lena stopped running, rage filled her body as she turned towards her own mother. "Why would I join you after what you did to that little girl!?! She was so young!" Lena yelled, tears streamed down her face as the memory of the little girl flooded back into her mind. Her mother took cautious steps closer to her, and reached out to her daughter. "Don't touch me!" Lena yelled, flames enveloped her body as she let out all her rage.

Her mother stepped back and began to run as Lena's full power was unleashed. Everything, everything was enveloped in multi-colored flames as Lena fell to her knees. She screamed, and screamed, and screamed until she couldn't scream anymore. She collapsed onto the ground, and the flames all disappeared leaving scorched patterns in their wake. Before Lena had lost consciousness, a flash of light showed in her vision and she heard a sweet voice. Blake.
