Ryleigh's POV
I had no clue what would happen if Max said something. I didn't really want to find out either.
He walked towards me and stood between my legs.
"I'm sorry Ry, but I have to tell her." He said.
I nodded and a tear rolled down my cheek. He wiped it with his thumb and turned to his mum. He gently grabbed my arm and showed her. He didn't even say anything.
Sara looked shocked. I didn't see why it was such a big deal. It was only two scars.
"Look, I won't do it again...I promise." I said.
Max smiled at me and Sara nodded.
"But Max," Sara turned to him. "Please keep an eye on her to make sure everything is okay."
He nodded and helped me down from the counter.
After I ate for basically the first time in three days, the twins wanted to do a live.ly but as usual, I didn't want to be in it.
"Come on, please Ry?" Max begged.
I shook my head.
"They hate me." I said.
"Harvey and I can tell them to leave you alone."
"Alright fine." I gave in. "But can I have one of your sweatshirts to, you know, cover the, um..." I trailed off but luckily Max got what I was trying to say.
He quickly went upstairs and came down with a sweatshirt.
"Thanks."
"Mhm." He mumbled and kissed my forehead.
He led me into the sunroom where Harvey had already started the live.ly. I sat right in between the boys and Max rested his hand on my leg, just so I'd feel more comfortable.
"Hey guys, we're back with Ryleigh today and please, do us a favor, and keep any rude comments you have to yourselves." Harvey said.
Max leaned over and kissed my temple.
"If you get to a point where you can't handle it anymore, kiss my cheek so I know. It'll look normal but then we can figure out what to do from there." He whispered and I nodded. He was honestly so sweet.
Even though Harvey had told their fans to be nice, the hate comments still came.
(RC stands for random comment)
RC: Max you could honestly do so much better than her!
RC: why is she here again?!
RC: I thought we chased her away last time!
RC: He's just dating you out of pity!
Then there was one comment that almost pushed me over the edge.
RC: I'm not surprised your dad killed himself
I froze. I didn't cry or really have any emotion.
I grabbed Max's hand and squeezed it as tightly as I could. I could tell he and Harvey saw the comment too because Harvey blocked the account and Max started to whisper to me again.
"You're okay, Ry. I know it's hard, but just don't let it bother you." He told me.
I nodded and forced a small smile. I'm sure at least Max knew it was fake, but the fans didn't have to know.
"Alright everyone, when I said to keep your rude comments to yourselves, I meant it. Ryleigh's one of my best friends and I bet you have no idea what it's like to constantly see your best friend upset. It hurts. A lot." Harvey said.
