There were days I spent just wondering,
So lost in thought I didn't hear the thundering.
I sit beside my window just dreaming
Of the life I want to be living.

The days were so hard towards me,
And the nights too dark to let my eyes see,
What was coming after us,
It was a deadly, pernicious curse.

It blinded our minds of love and hate,
And it still controls our lives till date.
We are all in a trance,
It has power over us and it makes us dance.

We are too feeble minded to realize,
That we must take back our pride.
We have lost so many years,
Lives and countless tears.

Its dominance has ruined love,
Caused hate and sadness above.
We must stand up and fight,
It hurts to see this sad sight.

We can win this battle,
If we come together and not always tattle.
I open my eyes and now I see the bright sun shining,
Its warmth and light so comforting.
