Art does not belong to me
Alex's PoV
I looked out of the bus window as we passed the Gravity Falls welcome sign. "When are we gonna get there, I'm bored," my younger sister Trinity complained. "We'll be there in a bit, we just got into town," I answer looking back at her playing with a small spider. "I hope our cousins are there!" Trinity said forgetting her previous boredom, "Especially Mabel! I love being with Mabel, she's just so cool!" Trinity said excitedly. "What about Dipper? He's a cool guy too right?" I asked Trinity. "Yeah, but he's too nerdy, even more than you Alex" she replied. "Well I guess I'm going to have to reclaim my throne as the king of nerds." I said playfully earning a chuckle from Trinity as the bus stopped. "Okay kids, here's your stop," the bus driver called to us from the front. "Hope you two can survive living in there," he said as we walked out of the bus with our bags.
We walked up at the house we were supposed to stay at for the summer. "This is great uncle Stanford's place?" Trinity said with a bit of confusion in her voice as she looked up at the house. It was a large wooden house in the middle of the woods. It had red letters on the roof that said MYSTERY SHACK, but the S in SHACK fell off so it looked like it said MYSTERY HACK. The house was definitely showing its age, with broken siding, shingles falling off the roof, and termites infesting the wood. I adjusted my glasses to make sure I was seeing the house properly. How the heck are we supposed to live in this? I thought to myself when an elderly man with a fez and a suit walked out of the house towards us.
"Are your names Heartwaters by any chance?" he asked us in a gravelly voice. "Yes it is," I reply. "My name is Alex, and this is my sister Trinity. And you must be our great uncle Stanford" I say as I raise my hand for a handshake. "Yeah, but you can call me your Grunkle Stan!" He said enthusiastically as he took my hand in his stone hard grip. "Grunkle?" Trinity says confused."Never heard of mixed words?" He replied We just shrugged as we followed him inside.
The inside of the house was filled with strange taxidermy and cheap gift shop items. I noticed a corn sculpture on display titled The Cornicorn and a gorrila costume with underpants on called The Sascrotch among other oddities. Apparently this place doubles as a tourist trap. "Is this stuff real!?" I heard Trinity ask in amazement. "Of course it is, I made all of it," grunkle Stan said proudly. I just rolled my eyes. "Now, I'll show you two your room," grunkle Stan said as we walked into the employees only area. It lead to a living room with an old TV and couch as well as a t-rex skull that acted as a coffee table. "This is where you can find me most of the time I'm not working," Stan informed us before we went upstairs. He led us to a room in the attic with two beds. On one wall there was a bunch of monster pictures and on the other was a collection of boy band posters. "Your cousins already set themselves up in here today, but it was the only room I could spare, so your sharing a room with them." Trinity's face lit up when she heard that cousins were here. "Dipper and Mabel are here! Where are they!"Trinity said excitedly " They went out into the woods to put up fliers for the mystery shack" Stan said as he opened the door. "Mattresses are under the beds so pull them out when you go to sleep," he said as he walked downstairs.
