Y/N

I sat at my desk, mindlessly tapping it and trying to find a rhythm. I had this song in my head, and it sounded beautiful.
As I was writing, the classroom got louder and I couldn't concentrate on the music in my head. I sighed and put my pencil down.
Suddenly, I felt someone's eyes on me. I turned to see a boy with brown hair staring at me. I smiled at him and he smiled back before blushing and facing front again. I laughed and turned facing the front as well.
The song still played in my head; luckily class was almost over. I waited and hummed the song quietly to myself.
The bell rung only a second later and I stood up fast, quickly making my way out of the crowded classroom. I found myself pretty much running to my locker, eager to finish writing my song. I shut my locker and turned quickly, running right into someone. I dropped my book and looked up into stunning brown eyes.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry" He said, picking up my book and handing it back to me. Our hands brushed and he pulled away quickly. I realized he had been the boy from last period who had smiled at me. Shawn, I think.
"It's fine, that was probably more my fault anyway" I laughed, he smiled and looked back at the book in my hands. "Well, I've got to go, see you around" I said and began to walk away,
"Wait!" I turned back to see a panicked look on his face. "Umm... would you want to hang out sometime?" He asked, his eyes finding mine finally. I smiled and nodded before waving and walking off.
I continued to hum the song as I wrote down the lyrics. I sang to the music in my head quietly, trying not to draw attention.
I sat at my lunch table alone because all my friends had different lunch periods, and I wasn't looking to try to make new ones. I looked at the clock above my table, seeing that I still had about 15 minutes left to lunch.
I collected my things and headed out of the cafeteria and to the music room. My teacher loved me and since she didn't have a period during my lunch, she let me come in and play. I placed my book bag down and sat at the piano. I took a deep breath before I started playing and singing out loud.

"The world we knew
It seemed so simple then
Me and you
Thought it would never end
Oh what I wouldn't do
To get back to
The world we knew"

I sighed, thinking that I couldn't perfect it. It wasn't sounding the way I wanted.
"Ugh, why can't I sing?" I said, slamming my fingers against the piano keys. I ran my fingers over the keys, and played it again. It was only a part of the chorus, but it still needed to be perfect. I sang it again, screwing it up once more. "Damn it" I exclaimed, getting more pissed off.
Suddenly, there were another pair of hands on the piano, playing my song. I turned and was met by his eyes for the third time today.
"Hey" I said quietly, he sat beside me and continued playing the same keys. After the second time, he looked up at me.
"Aren't you going to sing?" He asked, my eyes widened. I shook my head and looked back at him.
"It's just going to suck anyway" He tried to intervene, but the bell rang, cutting him off.
I stood and walked towards the door, but turned around. "I'll see you tomorrow, Shawn" I stated, a sympathetic smile across his lips as he waved to me.

Instead of sitting in my usual spot for class, I moved to sit next to Shawn because a question had been stuck with me since I last saw him yesterday.
"Why did you come into the music room yesterday?" I asked, looking over at him. He chuckled and flipped open his book,
"Because you were in there. I heard you sing and it was enchanting." He blushed, I smiled and shook my head.
The conversation ended abruptly and the rest of the class, there was silence between the two of us.
The bell rang and I just went straight to the music room, skipping my stop at my locker and the cafeteria.
I played the melody once more and then began to record the whole song on my phone. I sang the first part and it sounded okay, but I got to the chorus once more and froze, but a voice interjected.

"The world we knew
It seemed so simple then
Me and you
Thought it would never end
Oh what I wouldn't do
To get back to
The world we knew"

I turned to see Shawn, his eyes locked with mine. I felt my jaw drop a little at the sound of his voice.
"You can sing..." I said astonished as he moved towards me. He laughed and nodded,
"I enjoy it." He said, taking his seat from yesterday, next to me.
"Apparently you also like skipping class" I joked, he smiled and we sang the whole song togther.
And that time, it sounded perfect.
