AVOX II (Chapter 1)

-LOUIS POV-

"Live, Annie. Live." I whisper to myself as I saw Annie finally ran forward. The fire started to touch my skin and I fell down.

"This is the end" I thought to myself. I was about to close my eyes, and let the fire to burn me down, until I heard loud buzzing noises from the sky.

A helicopter.

---------------------

I woke up in a white room. There are a few peacekeepers inside the room, but they didn't say a word.

"Why am I alive?" I thought to myself. "I should've been dead."

I heard footsteps from outside the room, as if it was coming. And it did. I couldn't recognize who it was at first. What I recognized were just the peacekeepers that are guarding him.

He took steps closer to me and I recognize him already. White fluffy beard, snake eyes.....he is President Snow.

"Morning, Ms.Lovelace" He greeted me. I was about to ask him questions when he cut me off-

"Perhaps, would you take a look of yourself, for the new you?" He asks.

The new me? What did he mean?

I was about to ask questions when two of the peacekeepers that guard him helped me up and walk to the mirror in the corner of the room.

"Welcome...to the new you" President Snow stood behind me.

I nearly fainted when I saw myself in the mirror. My face is not pale anymore. It is red, like a fire. And full of covered scars and bruises. And my hair... It is not long anymore. It is shorter and way darker than before.

"How'd you like to welcome the new you?" He smiled.

I was about to speak when I saw it myself in the mirror... I don't have a tongue. It has been cut off.

NO!! I cried inside.

"Oh, forgot to tell you about that..." President Snow speaks.

"We have done a sort of operation to your face when you were asleep." He said in a deep low voice.

"And from now on, you will be an Avox. Welcome, newcomer." He cheered.

What's the meaning of all of this? Why did he saved me? Why is he doing this to me? How in the world could I be an Avox??

I stared at myself once again in the mirror. No, its not me. It can't be me. This is not me. I'm already dead. I should've been dead.
