AVOX II (Chapter 2)
-LOUIS's POV-
"Ms.Lovelace, you would perhaps go and gather with the other Avoxes in your room, and prepare yourself to work. Today is your first day of working, you would not miss it, would you?" President Snow made his way out of the door. The two peacekeepers grabbed my hands and forced me to the 'Avox Room',where all the Avoxes lies.
As we stepped into the room I could clearly see them all. The Avoxes. Their sad faces. Their unhappy faces. Their tortured faces.
What I knew about Avoxes is that they are some kind of the Capitol's servants that made mistakes to the Capitol; traitors, rebels, runaways, and the Capitol punished them by turning them into an Avox.
And for safety, that the person who became an Avox wouldn't tell anything to anyone about the Capitol, the Capitol will cut off their tongues. That's why Avoxes are tongue-less. But I don't get it. Why did President Snow made me into an Avox? What have I done?
I'm not a traitor nor a rebel. I have no idea what did I do until President Snow turned me into an Avox. And why is he keeping me alive? Where's Annie? AH! Annie. Where is she? Is she still alive? Does she wins? How about Finnick?
"You!" A peacekeeper said, shouting at me.
"Go clean up the second floor's rooms!" He demanded, handing me a trolley of cleaning-stuffs.
I did what he told me. So I pushed the trolley all the way until the second floor, until I heard loud loud cheers.
"Annie! Annie! Annie!" Shouted everyone. Where is she? Where is Annie? My eyes suddenly caught Finnick, him calling for Annie's name. Does he knows that I'm still alive? I quickly hid behind a wall. No. He couldn't see me like this. Not in this condition.
"Finnick!" I then saw Annie, running towards Finnick, both of them pull into a hug. I forced a smile in myself. "I should've been happy" I thought to myself. I should be.
After cleaning up almost all of the second floor's rooms, I went to the last room. Wait. This is Finnick's room. What if he saw me? What if he recognized me? I cleared my heads up and knocked on the door. But no answer. So I peeked in, and no one is inside. Thank God. So Finnick won't have to see me.
I quickly do what I got to do. Clean up all the stuffs and-- *csst* the bathroom door opens. Oh no.
When I turn myself around I could feel myself became pale. It is Finnick, who came out of the bath, only in towels around his waist. What if he recognizes me?
He looked at me sharply and stepped closer. Terrified, I stepped backwards to avoid him.
"Do I know you?" He asked. I shook my head and he suddenly caught something on my left hand. The fish tattoo.
"Lou...Louis?" He gasped. Tears rushing down my cheeks and I suddenly hug him, and cry in his shoulder. Not caring of my face. Not caring of my hair. Not caring of how I sound like on crying without a tongue.
"Louis you're alive" He says, and I felt tears in his eyes. I stare blankly at the floor disbelief. Finnick Odair cares that I'm alive?
This is all not real.
I must be dreaming. I should be.
