Kim's P.O.V.
Watching Jordyn all hooked up to the monitors and the IV drip leaking into her arm made her look just as helpless as she was, a seven-year-old girl with no one to protect her. Not from this at least. When they wheeled her away into the surgery rooms I felt like they were ripping her out of me and her being all alone in there. The worst thought that came to my mind during her surgery was If she dies she will be all alone.
Three hours had passed. An hour more than she should have been in, Doctor Surgit came out of the surgery doors. The doors closed loudly and it felt as if all the other sounds, children crying, laughing, the steady beeping of the heart monitors, all seemed to go away and all I could hear was Doctor Surgit's footsteps walking towards me. And the only thought that came to my mind was, where is my baby girl?

Third Person
The beeping sound of the heart monitor was the only thing Kim could hear. The sun was blazing through the window and down onto the hospital bed, cutting through the air. A bluebird flew down and sat on the windowsill and chirped it's little song until to more came down to join it, then they all sat there singing in harmony.
"Mom?"
"Yes?" Kim was almost startled by Jordyn speaking, interrupting the sweet song of the blue birds.
"Am I cured?" The words burned into Kim's mind and she thought back to when Doctor Surgit had walked out of the surgery rooms so confident, to tell them how well everything had gone. Then she looked back at her daughter, her face so innocent and curious.
"Yes baby, you're cured."
