"Mom, where do you want me to put this huge box?"
"Anywhere sweetheart but make sure it's safe. I have some glass plates in that box!" I carefully put down the box on the front porch of our new home!

It was summer vacation and we had to move into this new Town because my dad got transferred from one company to another! So along with his new destination of working, they offered him a huge house here in Princess Town, which is the other side of Trinidad!

I was a little depressed because I had to leave my friends and my school there in Port Of Spain. I know to myself I am going to miss it so much. It wouldn't be just the same. But I know everything happens for the best.

After a while offloading the box from the car, I told my mom that I was going to look around the house. I left immediately with her approval.

From what I can tell, the house looked old. It has a few holes outside around the below, had some rotten wood that filled in some spaces and some parts that's unpainted.

"Don't go too far, Chrissy!" Mom yelled.

I jumped as I heard her voice!
"I won't", I said as I kept walking.

Behind our new house had a lake. It has a long bridge connecting two pieces of land above the water. "I wonder what's on the other side?" I asked my self. I didn't take it on at the point in time, so I kept walking back, towards the house.

On the other side of the house had two big funny looking Oaktree and hung from one of them is a swing, going with the melody of the wind.

I love to swing. It makes me feel the wind in my red short hair. The house looked like any other house but just a little ancient.

I went back inside because it was almost dark. As I was walking up the front porch, I felt like I was being watched. When I turned around, I felt something jumped on me. Opening my eyes, I saw Roger, my dog licking my hand and clothes. He loved the perfume I was wearing.

"Come on boy, let's go inside," I said as I got up smiling, rubbing his head. Running inside I looked around carefully and inspect the old house a little. I was being told that this house was sold at a very low price before my dad got it. What I don't get is why no one bought it. It was good but only need some fixing.

I entered the kitchen that was big, the living room was wide and I saw another doorway down to the back. "I wonder what's in there?" I mumbled. As I was approaching the door, on the other side, it made a noise. Like someone was telling me to stay away.

Reaching for the doorknob when I heard someone said "Honey what are you doing? " I anxiously jumped turning around to see my dad standing there, staring at me with a very confused look on his face. He was tall, have broad shoulders, his hair was blonde and no one could have missed his light grey eyes. He was also serious in important activities, very responsible and believe everything has a logical explanation.

"Oh, dad it's you, " I said with a sigh of relief.
"Yea hunni, you look a little pale. Are you okay?" He asked. "Yea I'm fine. I just thought I heard something! " I said with a smile didn't want to worry him.

"Anyway your mother wanted me to tell u that your grandma is coming to pay a visit here since she lives right around the corner. Also, she will be spending the night since your grandpa will be visiting his brother for the night." He said.

Seriously?

"Amm, Okay dad, but are u sure she would be comfortable here? I mean the place needs a lot of packing up to do." I said trying to make an excuse so she wouldn't have to come. She is into the more superstitious stories like ghosts and other supernatural crap that we all know, DON'T EXISTS.

"You guys will make the most of it," He said walking towards the stairs.

I ran up to my room quickly checking it out. It was big and have two closets. It has shelves that were dusty, one window that was by my bed and the colour inside was light pink.

It was good enough for me to sleep in. I grabbed the plastic bag that had all the sheets inside and made my bed up.

I went downstairs to take a shower and after, I felt so refreshing. I had a cold one because the water heater wasn't working. I went into the kitchen, made a sandwich and tell my parents goodnight.

I went back to my room and searched through some of my things and found some pictures that were taken before we left Port Of Spain. It was with my friends, teachers and my neighbours. I missed them all so much. I carefully put some pictures in frames and put them on my shelves so that they will always be with me.

I took my lamp light off and cuddle my teddy bear. I know I know, how a 17 years old teenager still cuddles teddy bears. But he has been with me since I was 12 years old. And when the world doesn't listen to me, he does.

I lay there thinking about how can I start a new life, a new school, new friends and... I haven't seen any neighbours so far. " I'm gonna be so lonely here," I said to myself.

Then I remembered that grandmother will be coming tomorrow and worst of it all, she will be spending the night. I will have the put up with her stories, and she sleeps walking in the night. Great. This couldn't get any better.
