8. The book of friends

Day: 10

During the rest of the week, Natsume introduced (Y/N) to the rest of his friend and slowly, she managed to open a bit with the rest of the class. (Y/N) still feels a bit uncomfortable being surrounded by so many people but her progress was such that she can maintain normal conversations with some classmates like Nishimura and Kitamoto who used to stay with Natsume the most part of the time during school.

That same evening while she was returning home with Natsume, Kitamoto and Nishimura, (Y/N) heard in the distance a voice that was approaching to them.

—Natsume Reiko... give it to me... give me the book of friends...— that Youkai muttered as he start to fly more close to them. Natsume turned around to see that Youkai and worried for you and his friends, he decided to ran away.

—I'm really sorry... I remembered that I have something important I must do— he shouted at the distance. Nishimura and Kitamoto look confused for his sudden action but when they feel that wind gust, they understand it immediately.

(Y/N) turned to them and bowed in apologize before deciding to go towards Natsume but before she can go, Kitamoto grab her by her wrist.

—You are able to see that things too, right? —Kitamoto asked. (Y/N) didn't know what to reply in that moment so she tried to think in a way to change that matter but when he noticed it, he tried to calm her— it's alright so please don't worry for that because the only thing I want is ask you to protect Natsume for us. We already know that he can see those things and that he always got on so many problems because of that; because he is our friend, we want to wait and don't press him to tell us about his problems...—

—That's why we want you to protect him or at least support him in our place. Because we couldn't see those things, we couldn't know what to do to help him; but you are different from us, you are able to see them and know what to do for him. Please, we want you to help him and support him in what you can (Y/N)-chan— Nishimura asked taking her by surprise. She smiled at their words.

—Yes, I'll do it...— she finally replied before starting to run towards where Natsume go. When she finally managed to reach him, she noticed that Natsume was still running away from that Youkai and that Nyan-Nyan was nowhere to be found. 'Where's Nyan-Nyan?' she though trying to find him in the surroundings but when she didn't found him at all, she decided to help Natsume instead.

—The book of friends... gave it to me...— the Youkai keep demanding. He increased his speed and thanks to that he finally managed to reach Natsume and grabs him by his neck— gave it to me now— the Youkai showed his fangs and keep threatening Natsume to give that book of friends.

When (Y/N) finally arrived at the place, she didn't have another option but seal the Youkai because he was hurting Natsume and in the youkais current estate, it was impossible for her to talk with him. When the Youkai was sealed, Natsume fall not far away from the small pot where (Y/N) sealed the Youkai.

—Natsume, are you alright? — She asked running towards him. She kneeled down to see if he was alright and once she did it, she helped him to stand up.

—Yeah, I'm fine so please don't worry. But... where did you learn that? — He asked a bit surprised for what she did.

—From the Matoba clan. Because great part of my stay with them I have time enough to read so many books in the clan library or just following Matoba during his exorcisms, I learned so many things from them but I never thought that I will need to use them— she replied to finally get away from Natsume and stare at him— but changing the matter, Natsume... what's the book of friends? — (Y/N) asked with a curious look.
