Sorry it took so long, enjoy! ☺
Third person P.O.V
After preparing the ship for travel, --which took about an hour because it was an old ship and it hadn't sailed anywhere except around the Isle occasionally, Gil and Harry and some other crew members came back to the Chip Shop to eat. There's Uma, I better go try to talk to her again, Harry thought to himself. He knew she wouldn't talk to him if he asked her what was wrong in the way he did earlier, so he had to try a different approach. And he knew just the way he would do it.
While Uma was talking to one of the crew members about something ship-related, Harry walks over to her and spins her around by the waist, startling her a bit. She crosses her arms expectantly, wanting to know why her conversation had been interrupted. When she realizes it was Harry that interrupted she gets ready to walk the other way but then he takes his hat off and drops down on to one knee, the way he usually does when she asks what her name is. Harry knew Uma loved the (dramatic) way he made a big deal out of saying her name. To most people it's just a name, but to Uma it meant so much more. The way Harry says her name makes her feel validated and empowered, it makes her forget her horrible nickname and her past. He knew she wouldn't be able to resist responding to him if he asked this way.
"Uma, please tell me what's wrong", Harry says in a low tone. Uma raises an eyebrow and leans in closer to Harry, who thinks she's going to finally tell him what's up with her, but instead of answering his question, Uma grabs his hat from his hand then puts it back on his head.
"Get up Harry, and get back to work", she says in a monotone, then turns the other way swiftly, smacking Harry in the face with her braids. Wow. I really thought that was gonna work, Harry thinks to himself. After Uma's back in the kitchen, he stands up and storms over to Desiree who was leaning on the wall behind him. "Woah, what are you brooding about?" Desiree asks the livid looking pirate. "I can't get Uma to talk to me." Harry grumbles.
"Are you sure? Because I'm pretty sure I heard her tell you to get back to work", Desiree chuckles, earning a glare from Harry. "Des I'm serious, she's been acting strange around me all day and I don't know why." Little did Harry know, Desiree knew the exact reason why Uma was trying to avoid him. Uma had filled her in while they were searching for Harry earlier that morning. Desiree really wanted to tell Harry but her Captain had instructed her not to do so because it was "for his own good that he didn't know."
Not knowing how to respond to Harry, Desiree said "Maybe I could talk to her for you." At this, Harry's eyes lit up. "Yes, please", He says, nodding vigorously. "Oh and can you also tell her that I don't think all of us should go to Auradon" Harry asks Desiree before she walks away. "Wait what? Why not?" Desiree asks, turning back around to face Harry. "Think about it, if this plan doesn't work out and we get sent back here, we're not going to have anywhere to come back to. If we all leave for Auradon, we'll lose our turf and Mal's turf. But if some of us stay behind and watch over our territory while we're gone and the plan fails, we'll have something to come back to. And if the plan succeeds we can come back and get the people we left behind. It's just for insurance, we gotta be prepared for this plan to succeed or fail." Harry explains. "Your right Harry, I'll go tell her now." Desiree says, turning to walk over to Uma.
"And don't forget to ask her why she's avoiding me Des!", Harry calls after her, getting a laugh from Desiree "Don't worry, I won't. You're so desperate Harry." she says back. "Hey!" Harry says, mock offended, turning to go get some food from the cook while Desiree walks over to Uma.
"Hey Uma, do you need any help with the traveling preparations?" Desiree asks, trying to make conversation with Uma. "Actually yes, the ship's freezer is out of food and we're gonna need it for this journey, so you can go get some fish and whatever garbage you can find for us to eat." Uma says, not looking up from her To-Do List. "Ugh, I can't wait till we get to Auradon and we can eat real food. I'm tired of garbage." Desiree complains. "You and me both Des", Uma says, finally looking up from her list.
