Chapter 5: Love & Tattoos
{Kat POV}
I looked up at Andy as he stumbled out of his bedroom and into the kitchen, flipping a pancake onto a plate for him.
“Oh, sweetie,” he said softly, smiling and coming up behind me; folding his arms about my waist and kissing the top of my head. “You didn’t have to do this!”
“I wanted to.” I replied happily. “Besides, you were asleep for ages.” I exaggerated the last word before laughing and turning in Andy’s arms, leaning up on tip-toe and kissing the tip of his nose. “Morning.” I smiled up at him.
“Good morning.” he smiled back.
I disentangled myself from his arms and playfully pushed him down onto a seat, placing a plated stack of pancakes in front of him and a bottle of maple syrup. “I just hope you like them…” I muttered as I turned back to the pan on the stove, flipping the pancake I had in there. “I only know how to make them how my mum did…”
“Wow…” I turned to look at Andy who was shovelling pancakes into his mouth. “These are amazing!” he smiled at me, then frowned as I poured the last of the batter into the pan. “You going to join me?”
I bit my lip and looked at him guiltily. “I already ate honey…”
“Oh…” he looked at his plate for a moment and smirked. “How much?”
“Probably not enough.” I admitted.
“Well then,” his smirk widened and he patted his knee. “Come here.” Hesitantly, I went and sat on his knee; laughing when he stabbed a piece of pancake with his fork and held it up to my mouth. “Open.” He commanded, still smirking mischievously at me.
Rolling my eyes, I slowly opened my mouth and closed it around the end of the fork, sliding the pancake off and moving back again. “Yum.” I smirked before standing to check on the still cooking pancake.
“What makes you think I’m done with you?” I could hear the wicked tone in Andy’s voice as I flipped the pancake out of the pan onto the spare plate with the others we hadn’t eaten yet and turned the stove off.
“You’re not?” I asked innocently as I turned around to face him again.
My breathing hitched slightly as his eyes darkened. “Not by a long shot.”
The sexual tension in the air was almost palpable as our eyes locked and our breathing quickened. I swear we would’ve had each other right there in the kitchen if the phone hadn’t rung…but it did.
Ring, ring…ring, ring…
I spun and snatched up the phone. “Hello?” I asked shakily.
“Oh, hey Kat,” I heard Manson say, yelling to someone ‘She’s at Andy’s’, and putting the phone to his ear again. “We didn’t know where you were…but I should’ve guessed,” he chuckled. “Naughty girl.”
“Shove off Manson, we haven’t…” I trailed off, looking at Andy and blushing when he shot me a smug smile. “Anyway, that’s none of your business.”
“Whatever,” he scoffed then sighed. “Just…call your mom and tell her you’re okay…oh…here’s Cindy…”
“Okay…” I waited while the phone changed hands.
“So, they were worried, but I totally knew where you were and told them to chill out…but would they listen? No.” I smiled as Cindy ranted through the phone and I heard the sound of a door closing in the background. “Okay, I’m alone…so? Did you two…” she trailed off and I sighed.
