New beginnings. Fresh start.

I hate them. When I was told I was going to move here to Colorado from beautiful LA, I knew my life was over.

But it was better than being in LA with all the people that were the reason I was glad to leave.

"So when am I gonna get my own car?" I asked my dad as I closed the door to his black Mercedes-Benz.

"When you're more old enough to buy your own." He told me.

"Really dad?" I rolled my eyes.

"Yes really. Bye sweetheart."

"Bye." I kissed my dad on the cheek before running into the the school building up the stairs.

I came to an abrupt stop when I saw how full the hallway was.

I shrugged the sudden feeling of nervousness and headed for the office.

I walked into the quiet reception and walked over to the receptionist behind the desk. I gave her a kind smile.

"Hello." I greeted.

The woman looked up from typing from her computer and returned my smile.

"I'm the new student, Brooklyn Thorn." I informed her.

"Oh yes." She turned around in her swivel chair and went through some of her drawers.

"Here you go." She handed me my file and I thanked her with a kind smile.

I turned around and walked out of the office. I was once again in the noisy hallway and was squeezing through the huge crowd. I finally got to my new locker and put in the complicated combination.

It finally popped open and I shoved my books inside it as the bell rang for register period.

I turned around to walk away to my registered class but bumped into a hard chest, my file and books falling right out of my hands and onto the ground.

Great.

"Watch where you're going dork." A voice spoke up.

Oh okay.

I looked up at the voice speaking. I didn't care if this person was drop dead gorgeous with the most gorgeous eyes I've ever seen, I wasn't going to be bossed around.

"I'm sorry, but who do you think you are to accuse me of something I didn't even do?" I folded my arms at the boy.

"You don't want to know who I am." He smirked.

"You're right I don't. Cause I really don't care."

"I'm the captain of the soccer team."

"I just said-"

"And the person who could ruin your newly found reputation newby." He smirked once more.

Oh. You wanna play dirty? Cool.

"Well, captain, this newby is gonna be the reason why you're not gonna be captain anymore." I started picking up my books.

He was shocked. His expression was priceless.

"Do you seriously think that?" He scoffed.

"No I don't. I know it. So you better play nice captain if you still want to be called that after I'm done with you." I bumped shoulders with him and walked away.

I've never been captain of a boys soccer team but that won't make a difference because I'm a great captain.

This is a war between the captains.
