"you really think so?" tobi raises an eyebrow at me,

"yes, well no. maybe? it's hard to say" i frown,

tobi pulls his legs to his chest, "explain."

"well, it's not him i love. like when i met him at freezy's party i didn't feel the spark i feel now. it's his personality, it's changed, and i don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing."

"i know what you mean, he has a different aura to him. it's offsetting but familiar" tobi says.

"maybe i'll just text him, tell him to meet me at the park. we can talk." i say getting out my phone.

"josh.." tobi smiles sadly placing a hand on my phone,

"maybe wait a while, you did basically tell him to 'get lost' not that long ago.."

"oh, yes. i suppose you're right" i frown putting my phone back into my pocket.

"you should rest, i'll be back soon. try to get some sleep" tobi smiles walking out the room, closing the door behind him,

i nod to myself as i kick off my shoes snuggling into tobi's warm 'black goalie' quilt.

5 hours later

"josh? josh wake up" i groan as i crack open my eyes,

"mhm?"

"as much as i love you as a friend, i think it might be time for you to go home" tobi chuckles handing me my phone from the nightstand.

i look at my lock screen to see it reads 5:48pm,

"oh shit, sorry. i over stayed my welcome" i say getting out of his bed.

"no it's ok josh" tobi says to me,

"i really shouldn't have stayed this long anyway, thank you for your hospitality, tobi" i smile to him.

"no problem, do you want me to drive you to your house?"

"no, no it's ok. i think i'll take a walk tonight, clear my head" i smile opening the front door,

"bye josh!" i hear manny yell from the kitchen,

"bye manny!" i yell back closing the door.

the warm autumn wind ruffles my hair as i walk down tobi's garden,

pulling out my wallet i decide to grab some take out on the way home.

i start walking to my house which is 5 blocks away from tobi's but the corner store is only 3 away from tobi's,

starting to walk i realise that there is someone sat on the swings in the park.

we lock eyes.

"josh?" jj calls out to me,

"hey, jj" i say walking over to him leaning on the pole that holds up the swings.

"so, how are you? you know.. after that happened" he says looking away from my eyes,

"i'm ok, i went home with tobi and slept the rest of the day away. thanks for asking" i sit down on the swing next to him,

"mhm" he mumbles swinging his legs.

"i'm sorry about what i said, at school, i'm sorry," i say looking down at the ground then back at jj,

he looks at me and smiles.

"it's ok, josh. i learn not to take things to heart anymore"

i frown at his statement but decide not to say anything.

i decide i should tell him how i feel,

"hey, jj, look-"

"meow~" i get cut off by a black cat staring up at me and jj,

"hey there, kitty" jj smiles bending down to pat it.

it pulls away and beckons with its tail,

"let's follow it" he smiles getting off the swings.

"Hey jj, i don't-"

i get off the swings and follow jj and the cat,

"here kitty, kitty" jj says trying to get the cat to come towards him,

i chuckle as he fails.

we end up near the road that leads past the park.

it looks me in the eye and starts to walk across the road,

jj follows,

"no, jj, wait!" i call out as i hear a honk of a horn,

a truck.

i sprint towards him.

"josh!" he screams as i shove him out the way.

the last thing i hear is jj screaming my name,

and that stupid cat looking me in the eyes.

fuck you cat.

"because i'll do anything, for you"
