I thought training would be like what athletes do. You know, running and push-ups and stuff.
But the type of training Ethan wanted me to do required putting on some complicated armor, and a sword. If my mom saw what we were doing next, she would have flipped out.
Ethan had me try out several different weapons, including swords, knives, clubs, and bow and arrows. I knew I sucked at all of them, but if Ethan was disappointed in me, he didn't show it.
"It's okay, we'll keep working on it. It's only your first day of training after all," Ethan reassured me. "You'll get better in no time."
I wasn't so sure. I told all this to Luke at dinner. He understood.
"Trust me, Sam. I sucked when I first started training too. Some of those things are pretty heavy. Maybe we just haven't found the right one for you yet. I'll contact the forges and see what they can do. I think we're going to have to design a scythe for you, but just to make sure, I'll watch you train tomorrow."
  "Luke, what's a scythe?"
