I was sitting alone now, in chemistry. Dillian and I only had Lunch, English, and study hall together. It really was a shame we had so few classes together since I would now have to sit next to Keefe for most of my classes. I thought it was bad when he had to sit next to me in English; it was even worse that we had every period together excluding Spanish. Apparently, I was already fluent in French, Latin, Italian and another language that Dillian had referred to as Elvin, a fact that I hadn't realized until I busted out if full out French in the middle of art class three weeks ago. Keefe was also in art class with me. He was an amazing artist, incredibly focused on what he was working on. He could make even the ugliest things beautiful, have light seep out of the canvas and the still picture come to life. "You have five more minutes to complete the assignment." Mrs. Cormiun pronounced, her loud voice echoing around the spacious classroom. I looked down at my blank paper, empty due to my distracted thoughts. I sighed before looking back at the countless lessons leading up to this test, studying each different number and formula before hurriedly scribbling down the answers. I swiftly grabbed the paper of the small desk in front of me. My footsteps echoed in the silent classroom, ridden of sound excluding the hurried sound of pencils scribbling down the final answers. I swiftly turned as the paper hit the stack of tests, my gray sweatered swiveling with me. I observed the classroom while slowly making my way back to my seat at the middle of the back row. And then my eyes landed on him, the way his brow was pinched together in concentration. The new boy was tinkering on something, his fingers moving elegantly across the metal surface. The machine he was working on almost looked like a grenade, and I had no I idea how I knew what a grenade looked like. There were slots on the sides of the oval shaped gadget. There was a small red button at the top and you could see a small speaker on the bottom of the machine. I took an unnoticed seat next to him, watching as he occasionally glanced up at the clock, before continuing his work on the strange gadget in front of him. He glanced up at me, raising an eyebrow as he caught my eyes looking at him. I hurriedly looked down at my desk, heat rushing to my cheeks. I could feel his heated gaze on me, burning into my mind. "You know," Keefe's deep voice ringing in my ears. He had a certain accent that I just couldn't place, I almost sounded English with a hint of Irish."If you're curious as to what this is, you can ask." He finished looking at me sincerely. My brown eyes stared straight back at him, completing my answer. "Have we met before?" The words tumbled out of my mouth before I could stop them. I felt a blush rising as he let out a small chuckle, a sad smile adorning his perfect features. His head was tilted slightly, slowly shaking his head. "I don't think so," he started. "I have one of those faces." He finished, his ice blue eyes staring at me. I could see the light scattering of darker blues sprinkled on the icy field that was his eyes. "This is going to be used for a prank," Keefe leaned over, whispering."I'm planning on putting it under the teacher's chairs on Monday, it'll release a terrible smelling gas and -" I interrupted him. "You mean a fart bomb?" I asked, giggling a little at the end. He smiled down at me as the bell rung. I was too entranced by him to notice he was slowly walking away. "Yeah," he whispered, turning to smile at me. "A fart bomb."
